Just the N46s, complete turd. Its honestly not worth rebuilding or repairing, get a wreckered engine or swap a proper engine in and enjoy the benefits of it.
-
Even the separate CCV system in the silver tops is a pig of a thing to replace... when they work they work...
-
PDR done by Anton at http://www.mobilecarspecialists.com/ did a really good job, took out everything... I'm picky as sh*t and covered it in little bits of tape (including some dents that were microns deep) and he found and fixed even more.

Did the engine get swapped with the trans? Good luck, looks like a nice one.
-

That poor thing has seen some sh*t... at least its cheap. Exhaust butchery, aftermarket ebay headlights... at least its cheap, probably all fixable with TLC
-
Possibly, flick up a link, where in Auckland is it?
-
Washed pre its final inspection and getting it cert plate stuck on... then can get back to smashing the final few k's at it before the new lump goes in, refuse to pull it before it has 300,000 on the clock

Required: Pre-LCI 320i workshop manual
Jacko replied to overly__under__engineered's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like you are after an Haynes manual or similar, those linked are literally the workshop manuals BMW use. BMW workshops dont rebuild engines, particularly not N46s. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/listing/4276761575?bof=kbGDaPjS -

Bimmmmmeerrrgeeks. Its legit and not flaky at all. Carly is utter trash, and expensive trash.

Other than the cable ties, butchery to wiring harness, horn?, ignition booster bullshit box?

My insurance is due to renew, previously paid $800PA for AMI agreed value at like $14k, this year its now $1200PA with agreed value dropping to $13700.... No claims, no accidents, no changes... Anyone elses insurance sky rocket? Hawkes bay/Auckland floods the cause?

https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/4272504210?bof=EOVwkm6c - Brakes.... also got some weird stuff under bonnet. Looks like cert was done by dealer on import, kinda curious to see what suspension its running.

The amount of stupid sh*t coming out of Wellington in past few years is mindblowing, its like every government organisation got a lobotomy.
-
Docking is well documented online, plenty of how to's, although its frowned upon practice for this breed.
-
Wont have had a rebuild... still dirt cheap. Be worth snapping up for that price.
-
Just got it back again, again, hose blew off top of waterpump... fingers are crossed. Yup woodhill, Im fairly regularly up there trying to not fall off. It shat itself right when I got into carpark, missed out on hero dirt...

Nice! more manual 130 people, we are smaller in number than the slushbox crowd, but have far better taste.

Taken a month of pulling teeth, but think Ive gotten somewhere. Got in touch with recaros Marketing Manager in the US, who got in touch with the VP of Recaro Japan.. and things happened. All the Recaro minions, like Recaro Aussie rep, were much less than what would be considered helpful. Documentation with the cert man... hopefully I have an LVV cert shortly.

Yeah, had hoped it wasnt actually a VW as well... all the reports say they're better but proof is in the pudding. Toyota Ractis to the rescue, which cost less to buy than what Ive spent on Skoda repairs, and the 300,000km BMW as daily for a bit (as its way less of a ballache!)
