Makes ya wonder how differently the market would have responded if the DCT was ever stuck to the N52. Its there in the coding options just was never sold. Manual definitely suits the 130, but agree... if you are going to beat on it in stop start traffic get an auto, then buy a manual for the weekend :) I like the DSG in the skoda, it is a good compromise, but still not the same as a manual box when "not commuting"

Amazon prime sometimes does really quick deliveries. If you are really hard up I have an aluminium mickeymouse one here, might be able to courier it to Qtown by the weekend.

I had worn RE003s on the front of the VRS, still couple of mm of tread... thing is sketchy as sh*t in any rain (its also eating the fronts at an awesome rate). Aquaplanes all over the place on SH1. Just rotated them to try and kill a full set then will probably go to some Hankook Evo3s and hope they work better.

Yeah N54 manifold is like 5bhp more at 7000rpm, but worse everywhere else. Id be keen for the velocity stack setup as well, dyno graph does look promising - gives a solid kick up top without making everything else poop.

I have pre LCI ones you can have if you want, just sitting in the garage (and wont have the trim bits fall off... as there isnt any )

Cheap as! FWIW the pistons are the same as a few porsche brembos, can get aluminium replacement ones for the weetbix ceramics for a few bucks each.

Just "drove" my route for 10km on google maps street view, only speed sign I saw was an open road speed sign laying in a ditch. Was one of roads that had their speed dropped in the gubments latest crackdown... its just no one remembered to put signs out it seems.

Took the 130 for a very over due drive out to kaipara today, got pulled over on the way home... 100% police profiling 😕 Was in middle of queue of traffic doing exactly 100kmh, light truck in front of and behind me,... apparently the goat track out there is 80 (going to google maps street view it, because faffed if I saw any signs..)... Yeah, they are so much better with a manual, suits the car. Those that disagree just dont like the fact that they are better No different transmission to the 4 pots, GS6-37BZ-TJES is 130 box (370Nm rated), shared with Z4 3.0Si and thats it. In saying that there will be a bunch that have slightly different ratios/bolt holes/input shaft dimensions that will/will not work (M54 E46 ZHP, Z4M etc all have GS6-37BZs)

Pricing is weird in NZ, we are in a jap import fueled bubble. We are at roughly 50% the price of the average 130 world wide.... With the rate they end up the wreckers due the current price point and the unwashed masses that buy them, the bubble will burst soon when suddenly everyone realizes there are none left. Reality is they are a rare car internationally. Same thing goes for 135s/335s etc, people are struggling to give them away at the moment. MUCH higher production numbers than 130s.. its probably due to reliability/age of them now.

Rego rings a bell, wasnt it a forum members? Parking brake is a simple system, its cables and drums inside the rear disk, not a major no matter whats gone wrong (probably a switch) That sub makes me sad
