just use all of your electrics , change the afm to the bigger 328i type . remap the ecu . or use the ecu ews and chip from the 328i etc . use teh m50 sump , exhaust manifold and a 325i m50 intake etc . lots of different ways of doing it depending on what parts you use or get etc. or just run it on the 520i ecu , afm manifolds etc , will just be strangled a little for topend power

ok you can have the one from the 635csi for $700 , come help pull it out. not worth putting a 3.5 into the 520i , better to fit a e36 328i or e39 528i single vanos engine into the 520i or a 325i 525i type etc will make it go quite well and no need to change the gearbox or wring etc etc . bolts straight in.
-
is this for your 525i touring ., this is the blue (indigo colour)would suit it well , maybe remove the rear leather covers and get them fitted to the touring rear seats etc.

okare you thinking of putting it into your 520i?? i think you will want the e34 535i engine or e32 735i engine you will need the matching trans , driveshaft , exhaust , engine loom , ecu afm , rad and plenty of other parts etc etc. early engine 1982 to 1987 can be fitted in place of a later engine 1988-1992 or is it going into a 535i with a stuffed engine??
-
whats it going into , which version do you want ?? i have a early high power 10;1 compression ratio type or are you wanting one of the lower power lower compression later ones?? what do you call cheap?? have it listed here . http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-580937354.htm but call me if you want to talk turkey 021433600 [email protected] also have a lower block only , and can probably find a head if you want to build one up etc. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-582081842.htm

have seen both options in 535i . seams to be early nz new and uk import 535i have large case diffs where as jap imports (sth african built ones)and oz spec ones etc use medium case . just count the number of bolts on the side flanges that bolt to the diff case will be 6 or 8
-
med case good for upto about 400hp any way you loose RWKW with large diff , I lost about 8-10rwkw when changing the e34 544i med diff to a large case diff.
