    1983 E28 528i

how could you. we need it to replace the e23 730i paddock hack as marty wont spend any money on it and it needs new shocks , exhaust , throttle cable , seats , tyres , doors , bumpers , grills , fuel tank etc.
  9. my thoughts too about gavin.i think he can even tune the std bosch ecu to work with turbo's etc. dont waste your money yet on after market ecu's etc. give gavin a call. might just need bigger injectors and fuel pump and some sort of rising rate fuel pressure reg etc. only thing the e34 535i ecu doesn't allow for is knock sensors , but then you could use a m50b25 non vanos loom and tun ethat to suit with the seperate coils and delete the afm and tune off the throttle postion switch. also not sure about drury guys either?? had a mate with a car in there with webber cards ,came out running like $hit , but maybe they are better when tunning with the after market ecu's they sell them selves like most of these guys are.

    WTB: e34 stuff

yes . so what size axles do you need?? is it a large or medium case diff??? yes can do a fuel pump
  11. should have in my boxes and buckets full of bolts021433600
  12. finally tuned the e28 m5 engine . got pretty good results. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....45&start=45
  13. 1) the idle is really jumpy once warm so wondering its afm or icv make sure there are no vac leaks , biggest thing to cause rough running etc. 2) my viscous fan nicks my radiator. ive heard you ca either swap for a e30 pre facelift radiator or get a electric fan system. what one do you guys reccomend? or do you have any any options? does your car have a factory aux fan on the front for air con etc if it does just use that , replace the fan temp sensor in the radiator for a lower temp setting type like from a e36 318ti . if it doesn't have AUX fan then get one from a e34 etc or even a e30 one might do and switch it using the factory bmw parts like i mentioned above
  14. quick update its done!!!! taken a while to sort it out . but finally i can drive the car propely went to gavin's (hi-velocity) today. gavin did his magic , remapped the ecu with the new millar maf unit fitted. have had to do a bit of a overhaul on the fuel system 2 new fuel pumps, new filter , proper fuel reg fitted , got rid of the fuel dampers in the fuel lines near the engine. had all the injectors cleaned , descaled etc so all 100%. fitted a metal mesh just before the MAF unit to straighten out the air. goes really well now , sounds pretty neat. power goes flat at the top but we think maybe the exhaust is strangling it a bit. maybe in the future i might look into sorting that out. make about the same power as my 4.4L v8 but not quite the torque. enjoy the video.
  15. take it to a garage with scanner or swap it out for another one.i have one. in papakura 021433600
  16. temp sensor is loated on the inlet side of the head just behind oil filter housing. no afm has to be from same type , so if its a m50b25 vanos then you need one of those types , they are a common one to fail. do you run the factory air filter or some sort of pod or k&n filter , did you oil the filter?? the oil will ruin the afm sensor
  17. air flow meter or engine temp sensor
  18. correct . very hard to find (only really found on e34 m5 some e34 540i and some e31 models) and anyone who has them knows they are a good wheel to keep hold of. i wouldn't sell the ones i have on my e28.
  19. yup looks like a hare to , used to see a few of these where we lived in brookby afew years back. much slower bouncers than the little rabbits. i should have those parts if needed

  21. yes 318is is a good little runnabout no it wont bet a 328i or a 325i etc . try go for a 318is with 5spd manual as the 4 speed auto's are a bit sluggish and long winding up between gears etc (see top gear christmas special 2010 going into jerusalem with the z3 which uses the same engine and gearbox set up) they are a GM brand gearbox bit like a holden HQ trimatic uses but with a 4th gear overdrive. the 1.9L m44 are better than the m42 1.8L more usable toque and betterair flow meter system . the 318is usally have sport seats , body kits , better 16" alloys etc etc . also consider a 318ti in motorsport spec same engine etc but about 100kg lighter so a bit quicker and use less fuel. same back seat space as a coupe or sedan. my mate will have one for sale very soon 96 with 160-170k red with 5spd ,16" etc probably around $4k etc
  22. yes most likly this , you dont need it
  23. i used the m52 stuff beacuse thats whats in the car , if i changed it to a m50 vanos stuff i would need to change the engine loom , ecu , afm , cam and crank sensors , disconnect the ews sercity chip key set up etc etc .charger came with the mounting plate bolts up to the alternator mounting bolts check all the photos for details. seimens m52 ecu is a pain to remap(postage stamped chip) , earlier bosch (plug in chip)set up is easier to remap. oil filter and alt is in std place. in papakura
  24. hiyes its 328i m52b28 engine , fitted a m50b25 manifold , using all the m52 sensors and electrics etc. variable fuel pressure reg to help with fueling . would work better with aecu remap but have not done that yet. headers are from a wayney on teh forum here. if you are using a m50b25 it would be easier to remap the bosch ecu that they use than the seimeins type teh 328i use. talk to gavin at hi-velocity , i think std injectors and fuel pump will do unless you go for big boost. this set up is only 4 pounds boost . but most of the kits you buy run 7-8pounds boost , and come with a chip and bigger injectors etc
