Mercedes are almost worse, my old ML 320 CDI was a 3.0 V6, my old CLK 55 was actually a 5.4, same with the E55, ML 280's are a 3.0 e.t.c. Why? Who knows, and I don't understand the point of it to be honest, I mean a 525d is a 3.0diesel, wouldn't it sound better if they kept the 530d tag? Ok so to differentiate between models perhaps? But how many niches can you fill, i.e either have a 320i, 323i or 325i, 328i??? Why have 4x 6 cylinder engines in one range? Why they even have a 318i and 320i in the E36 range is impossible to understand, I mean what is a E36 320i do that a 318i not do?

I'm not really too sure the Porsche or Z4 would be good track cars, I mean there's be other options to consider if you were buying it for part track use. I've never found the Boxster to be hard riding, and certainly not sluggish, 0-100 in some 6 seconds and 150MPH + isn't exactly slow Gregg & that's just the basic 2.5 flat 6 version, she only weighs 1200 or so KG. If you can go the newer Boxster S, you're a bit more grunt and 160mph + and 0-100 in 5.9sec Depending on how much you have to spend : THIS MOFO I love it how they've put the seats right forward so that it looks as if there's leg room in the back seats, normally you'd have to have legs as thick as an A4 sheet of paper to get in those seats otherwise.

If it were me, I'd go the Porsche but only because I've owned one. They have a presence IMO, and sound amazingly brilliant with the roof down especially.

I can vouch after owning 4x E53's the stereo's in them terrible, especially compared to the ML320 CDI that I had, the stereo in that was unbelievable for a factory car, had 4 sub woofers factory. I looked at doing a similar setup on my first diesel X5.

Looking for a cheap hack for work, I won't be driving it but have been looking at the 320i vs 318i scenario, I mean what is the point of the 320i? there's only 7kw in it and 10nm? I thought about going Corolla or similar, but prices for those are stupendous. I'm trying to burgle THIS little import 318i which looks half tidy and even has stability control, on a 97! Anything to look out for on these later E36's ?

Sounds great, would it handle better than a new M3 though? Must be straightline speed. After driving one at the start of this year I rekon and M3 would handle better than my old Porsche Boxster and that thing was unbelievable in the corners.

Shoulder chops mate yeah, they were HUGE! Yes I've tried smoked flounder, my favorite fish and was bloody good. Something else we tried was lamb shanks, mine can cook constantly at 250deg and they were nice and crispy, and slighly pink inside, epic! Something else to try is mussels in the shell, if you're a fan they are nice smoked too. But my favorite of all smoked has to be the pork slices and chicken nibbles. Bring those out when you have people around and they vanish very quickly.

If it's figures you're after then the Mustang is the way to go. But if I personally am buying a muscle car then I want looks and sound, doesn't necessarily have to be the fastest. If I wanted fastest, I'd drop the money on a 911 Turbo, BMW M5 or something else European.

Precisely. Focus/Mondeo e.t.c are good cars. It would be a viable option to actually get a Challenger in but the conversion to RHD (which I couldn't live without) would kill the price.

Pretty good going really. I'd have gone for a Challenger personally, or Camaro! - just to add more pre-historic leaf spring setups to NZ.
