yea we started off with an Atari 2600, then onto the master system, mega drive after that we got our first pc, an intel sx25 with a whopping 4meg of ram and a 171meg hard-drive - it could only just run Doom and I could only have 2 games installed at the same time coz of the little hdd; I have fond memories of playing Jazz Jack Rabbit, Doom and Master of Orion on that pc
-
welcome, very nice looking car you got there I really like the wheels, that's pretty much what I'm looking to get for my car
-
Sold!! Seriously though, that is what sold me on getting Forza, engine swaps and the large amount of customisation optoins. I can't wait for Forza 4, the Kinect funcionality should be interesting

spotted a silver E46 ti this morning on SH1 in Wellington spotted it as it cut me off (even more dangerous with the torrential rain we had this morning, it was a very close call) and then proceeded to overtake several cars using the shoulder area, all for the purpose of queue jumping. How much time did you save doing that mate? 20 seconds? 30 seconds? Must have been a really important person going to an absolutely vital meeting or something
-
I've found that I'm getting at least an extra 100kms per tank of gas ever since my car was converted to manual
-
all sorted, apparently it needs to be hammered on
-
the knob the surround fits perfect
-
right, got all the old plastic off thanks to a mate and a 2nd pair of vice grips lol I have the new surround on, and am putting the new knob on, but it's kinda easy to pull off it fits, and it sits there fine, but it's not a tight fit am I supposed to glue it down?

watch a few seasons of Outrageous Fortune and you'll learn a lot about the language kiwi's use
-
yea I did initially try to screw off the gear knob, so that would explain it lol right, new knob time haha
-
I'm actually a bit of an anomoly amongst my friends ... I've only ever had 1 speeding ticket (back in 2008) and no other offences at all ... yet almost all my mates have lost their licences between 4 and 7 times now for various offences
-
or the car you're following doing 70kph on the motorway has just sped up to 110 on the passing lanes and then back to 70 after the passing lane ends yea those people I do break the law to pass (never over yellow lines though, that's just plain stupidity) and that's really the only reason I have a detector otherwise I'm always sitting on the posted speed limit, even with my detector plugged in

here's a pic so the plastic bit should just pull off with a bit of force?
-
cheers Jon, I'll pop in saturday morning if I don't get it sorted before then and thanks everyone who's taking the time to reply, it's much appreciated
-
yea I was thinking that might be it, coz my gear stick isn't just plain metal and the length of the plastic that's still on the stick is the exact same as the gear knob I'll put up a couple of photos tonight when I get home to confirm before I start prying bits of plastic off lol
-
yep that's right, take the gear knob off and there's the normal metal gear stick but with what looks like to be a plastic covering which I guess is so the gear knob has a tight fit got the surround from BMW, genuine part it clips into the centre console fine, just can't get it over the gear stick [edit] I'll also add, the hole in the top of the new surround is about half the size of the hole in the old surround, but the old surround looks ripped and very worn

Hi, I got a brand new gear stick surround boot to replace my old worn one, but I can't get the thing on. I can get the gear stick knob off fine, but the gear stick has a plastic piece covering the metal where the gear stick knob goes. The plastic bit is far too wide to be able to squeeze the surround boot over without ripping it. I tried to get the plastic bit off but it seems to be well and truely stuck on the gear stick. Is this plastic bit supposed to come off too? Does it screw off? I believe it needs to be on there when I put it all back together as it makes the gear knob have a nice tight fit on the gear stick. I can take pictures tonight if that doesn't make sense to anyone lol 1996 E36 coupe, manual cheers, Christopher

+1 yea when my dash says check control, there's usually something on the obc display, like a brake light warning or something like that
-
choice I'll pm you shortly those are wheels that I quite often picked on Forza lol
-
not quite the style I was looking for, but they do look quite nice even better is they're on the same car as mine, so really good indication of what they'd look like I'll put it in the maybe pile cheers
-
yea? that would leave plenty in my budget for a tidy up and new tyres pics?
-
would be good if they had a little bit of a lip I would also prefer the centre cap to be smaller the first and second car on this site the wheels look fantastic cheers
-
more after similar to what I posted above, I like the lots of straight spokes style um budget would be around $1500 to $2000 including tyres
-
had a look but not really what I'm after, cheers Alpina reps eh? Can't say that's something I thought of lol after googling I found http://www.alpinaaustralia.com.au/parts/wheels.htm the top 2 pics on that website, yea I really like them
