  1. I'm going through the battle too glenn. Although I am in my second week of relapse after 8 smokefree. Not looking forward to getting back on the wagon, but hardout looking forward to being smokefree again.
  2. There's a 540T on TM. Looks like it needs some fettling, and a little overpriced. But still. its a V8 Touring.
  3. Saw this Focus RS On the Wellington Urban Motorway this morning. So mean.
  4. Points of failure seem to be the loom at the L/R boot hinge, LKM, and headlight adjustment motors. (adjustment motors might be related to LKM? not sure) Unplugging the motors on both my E34's have fixed all warnings and bing bongs Might get some replacements at some stage, but isnt a priority.
  5. Fixed the fabled dip beam, brake light and license plate light warnings on the 540.
  6. Pop the bonnet and look at the back of the headlights. (the right hand side will have a plastic heat shield of sorts as a part of the airbox - remove this, but put it back!) In the middle of the light cluster, there is a long thing sticking out with a plug on the end. This is the motor which controls the light height adjustment. unplug the plug. Provided you dont have a broken loom in the boot, i can almost guarantee this will fix your issue. I have just done this now on my latest 540, and once again, it works a treat. No more bing bong etc.

    My e46

    Eisenmann Exhausts are teh sex.
  12. Yeah I think the offset is the same, however the E39 is the oddball of the bunch with a larger hub bore. In short (as far as I am aware) E34/E38 rims will not fit on an E39 due to the smaller hub. With hubcentric rings though E39 rims will fit on E34.
  13. Hi All, I thought i was done with Bimmers and in particular E34's when i sold my last one, However it seems the bug has bitten again and i'm back. Picked this up today, some of you may be familiar with it as it was owned by a member a few months ago. Since then its had a new engine and number of other things replaced - though its very tidy, it is still not quite where i want it to be. First things first, there's some new feet and shoes coming on a truck Will take some proper photos after i've put the new rims on and given it a proper groom. Edit: Gave it a bit of a clean this morning and took some snaps on the driveway:
  14. The Guy is a tool. Though he did send photos and the car does look pretty tidy. I note that he may have been insulted by my sight unseen offer though.
  15. There's one for sale just around the corner from home (could be one of teh above ones - work trademe fail). I Have a little dribble 2x a day.
  16. Was it a 540? There was a matte black e39 540T down my way for a while. Was hawt as F***
  17. I Had this too. Unplug the motors for yuor headlight height adjustment. Mine were bad and were giving me these check control warnings.
  18. Can vouch for Subaru upper engine cleaner. Have used it on my legacy more than once. It's also used as a part of official servicing by subaru i believe.
  19. looks good boe. now get some dish.
  20. 1977 Alfasud. 2 hours after picking it up I discovered that all electrics liked to cut out when you stood on the brakes. 12 hours after picking it up, i smacked straight into the drivers door of the woman pulled out in front of me at the roundabout 1 week later i lost it on a 90deg left hander and sideswiped a van 8 hours later i jacked it up only to have the jack point collapse in a pile of rust. On both sides of the car. in the next 12 hours i discovered that the chassis was 90% Newtech and rust, and 10% steel. Funny thing is i still (17 years later) love that car to bits.
