    [ 328 CI ]

Sadly mine is a 330ci.... Otherwise I would be all over it.
  4. Maybe I am just getting intolerant in my old age - I do acknowledge that I have a very low tolerance for idiots. I also run by the rule of you f**k it, you fix it - when I am paying for a service (of any description) I buy on quality (not price) and I expect whatever it is to be done right. Sorry, end rant..... Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it sounded - haha!

    Rampant Phase III

Surely that weasel piss can't add to the beer count?
  6. Damn - you beat me to it.... And mine was also a VW Golf with this issue (annoyed me for ages until I finally figured it out). Haha - wasn't a purple diesel was it?
  7. You'll have to be more specific about the smell.... What does the burning smell like? Burning wires, rubber, oil or BBQ'd possum etc.
  8. Any colour as long as it matches the mrs handbag.... No, seriously it's one of the many things I consider before forking over the cash. Sure I have preferences, but would take one in better condition in a less preferred colour, than a shitbox in the preferred colour. However, I won't touch vomit coloured cars no matter what the condition is.
  9. I've seen coffee tables with less real estate than that wing.
  10. That is one of the coolest things I have seen on the internet! Must have taken forever to do. Love the stormtroopers hiding out in the box section....
  11. I actually saw the same F40 last weekend in Okahu Bay chopping gears... Sounds tasty too!
  12. Who new there was a Hillman Hustler?!?! I don't think this could be any more 70's if they tried. http://jalopnik.com/385044/nobody-outhustl...-hunter-hustler
  13. Mate - you must be the most tolerant person around! I wouldn't be wearing that.
  14. I worked worldwide - European, US and Australian vehicle projects (working from both NZ and in Europe) and never came across that name in either OEM or aftermarket (even at shows). I suspect you are correct that they are just a retailer - if so, why not just purchase the item from the NZ distributor like Hella? At least you have backup service if it goes pear shaped, and you can get them easily.... Just playing the devils advocate here. Just to clarify, when you refer to heat, you actually mean colour temperature (based on the CIE colour locus - confusingly, this is also measured in Kelvins, K). The actual temperature (in degrees C or Kelvins to the scientists & engineers) is the same for these bulbs. The lower colour temperatures have more yellow and red constituents and are closer to Halogen bulbs (which is what Hybrid has said above). The higher colour temps are more baised to the blue and purple spectrum - and the more UV they produce (which can damage/yellow polycarbonate lenses). These links may be of assistance: http://www.hella.co.nz/?t=280 and http://www.hella.co.nz/?t=284 I still suggest taking the car to an auto sparky if you haven't already done so - they will be able to give you a better idea if there really is a problem, and any potential costs. They may even swap a burner out as a quick test on the beamsetter for you if you ask nicely . Good luck sorting it out.
  15. If it was me, I would stick with the known brand names (like Philips or Osram). They are superior quality and tend to perform a bit better than the cheap no-name brands. Course, you pay more for those big names but I personally think the value is better. I worked in OEM automotive lighting for 7 years, and never came across Umnitza as a competitor - which suggests to me that they don't meet the quality requirements of the car companies (they are bound to be cheaper and everyone wants to save $$). My 2c.
  16. I live by that theory. In fact, I shall be increasing my IQ with an appearance at the beer festival tomorrow.

    Nice save.

    Bo Duke ring any bells?
  18. Until you are on the receiving end of said sub-machine gun....
  19. That was censored?? Liberal helpings of gratuitous nudity broken up with bouts of extreme violence.....
  20. Just one more reason why I am hooked.
  21. I think that was a Hella issue (ahem...) - unlikely that the Bosch ones used the same mechanism Yuen.
  22. Yeah - that would be the high voltage (up to 20,000 volts on some models) at ballast startup. Not so PC mad if you have an electricity allergy.... Try an auto electrician that has a good beamsetter - they can measure not only the position of the beam but also the intensity. It isn't an absolute measurement (as you don't know the factory values), but will give you an idea if there really is a problem or not.
  23. I only want 0.01% of the trillion....
