  1. I was wondering about this as well. I have my doubts about a battery problem causing low oil pressure.... I'd say you need to get it to a mechanic - if you haven't already killed it with the overheating AND lack of oil pressure. /shakes head/.

    WOW! Amazing

Yup - what Jon said. When GM gets a cold, the entire supply chain sneezes. Most people would be surprised to know what the car companies actually manufacture themselves - bodywork and sometimes the engine (Volkswagen are the obvious exception). And how reliant on the 'promised' sales volumes to recoup the cost of tooling the suppliers really are - it is cutthroat. I am glad I am out of that industry for the moment (the positive side is that the scale and technology is simply awesome in the auto industry - and I miss that bit). New IT is a great feeling when it all goes well. I know - I just put $80k worth of new servers in (and finally got them all running sweetly this afternoon). And that's the cheap part of my project
  3. +1. I don't think we should have wasted the money after 13 years for a trial that was really going to do no good at all. Even if found guilty, it was most likely only another short stretch for minimum parole all for the cost of how many hard earned taxpayer $$$$? I am still suspicious though.
  4. Thought I would ask the question in blind hope: Does anyone have a mint E46 coupe bootlid in titanium silver that they want to sell, or know of? When I say mint, I mean zero bog, rust, scratches, dings or other imperfections. I already have a new mint bootlid for it, but it is dark grey and needs painting - which I am trying to avoid if possible. Repainting the bootlid means blending half the damn car.

Explain please - I've never come across a curly wurly! Something like a chocolate twisty (the australian twisties, not the nz ones)?

The mrs is a vegetarian I take it?
  7. Doesn't Jerry Seinfeld have something like this for his Porsche collection? Course he lives in an apartment in New York and many cars.
  8. That's not a garage Jon - it's his own personal showroom. I want one just like that!
  9. I take it the gearbox does have oil in it?
  10. E30 right? I think the lenses on these are glass. Cleaning it may help (if it is dirty). If what you mean by frosting is the sand blasted look (as opposed to a stick on skin that looks frosted) you may have to replace them.
  11. A low and high pressure setup per bank? I hope that's gold paint - otherwise it will weigh a metric shitload, and be soft as all hell. Edit: Haha - I worked on the lighting for that vehicle in Europe! The headlamps use a full advanced front lighting system and was very complex for the time.
  12. That will probably need the door and passenger guard sprayed as well to blend the paint.... I would suggest you are looking at closer to $1200 for a front end respray (on top of the panel beating or replacement parts etc). If you have insurance, now is the time to be checking the policy details. Euro Collision (Panmure) are the guys that do the BMW NZ work, and Evans European (Onehunga) are also pretty good operators.

    Telecom XT

Yep - and I already squeezed a great deal from our Vodafone supplier for a couple of new phones that went live last month (really couldn't wait and Telecom weren't coming to the party at the time). You are right about the near future providing some interesting moves - I'll be watching and listening!

    Telecom XT

BlackBerry users? Our Vodafone BB plans use less than 10MB of data a month at the moment (for email traffic). On the business side, I think they look to be about 10% cheaper. 250 minutes at $99.95 vs $109.95 in the red corner. And they seem to have filled the hole where Vodafone have a 250 minute plan, and a 600 minute plan with nothing in between - the Business One 400 minute plan sits in there nicely for those not wanting to spend $225 a month for 600 minutes and not getting enough with 250 mins / $109 Vodafone plans. Sure it isn't super cheap for domestic users, but I don't think that is their target market. I previously would not even consider signing any of my staff up for Telecom (let alone myself) because of their technology (or lack of it). However, now I'll be taking a serious look at their plans as I have about 6 users ending their contract in the next few months and at first glance, they don't seem to have done a bad job. I for one am certainly not complaining that I now have 2 real networks to choose from, and a 3rd on the way
  15. The genuine OEM towbar comes from Best Bars in Manurewa. This is normally the removable tongue type and from memory was around $900 fitted. Yes you need a wiring loom for the lights (or some relays and wire it up yourself). Not sure on the price, but I have heard crazy stuff like $500 for the loom, and I don't remember if Best Bars installation included the wiring or not. There was one for sale on Trademe last week complete - not sure what it went for though. They do pop up every now and then.

  17. There used to be a really funny one when you searched for "weapons of mass destruction" using the "I'm feeling lucky" button but I see it now goes straight to wikipedia. Came up with a piss take of the 404 not found page.
  18. Yup - all of the above. You must try the bier unt bratwurst. Oh and the pretzels. And the bier... Come to think of it, I have never had a bad beer in Germany (and a lot of them are specific to the town or region and unknown out of the immediate area). They must know something! There is also the Porsche museum in Stuttgart (around an hour 30 from Munich on the Autobahn (A8) - if you want to legally thrash the tits off a rental ). Edit: the last rental I had there was an E90 manual - surprising how economical it was at 190 km/h.... The camps are a pretty intense and solemn experience even now, and well worth the trip. But expect to be moved emotionally - an aussie mate of mine just burst into tears at one point.

    17" BBS CH's

Dammit - where were you when I wanted something classy for my coupe????? Would have had these in a heartbeat.
  20. Wow - I haven't ridden a fixed wheel for 15 years... Haven't come across Bosomworth for many years either. They were one sweet frame in the early 90's. You can never go past a good steel hard tail - there is nothing else like it. Bimmersport bike cruise? As long as it's off road and not downhill or 4 cross.....
  21. 18 months ago I would have been all over this. They are a beautiful car to drive on the open road, and that one is a much higher specification than mine and in such nice condition. Gucci!
  22. Damn - and I thought I was too poor to afford an M3!
  23. Stock. Matches the other non-black items. Gold stands out like dogs balls.
  24. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the sports suspension refers to the Motorsport model of the car - which I believe is slightly lower than the standard.
