Heres a strange question fellow Bimmersporters! Has anyone here done any extra's work for film or TV? I'm looking for a little bit of extra cash and am keen to pimp myself on-screen. Seriously though, I've been an avid follower of the arts and have been thinking about it for a while. I've got no real experience in film. But more than the average person in stage performance. Couple that with my stunning charisma and watch out Oscar! (ok..that may be a bit far ..) Yes I've seen the nz talent websites but I've got the feeling the majority of people just get lost in the crowd. I'm hopefully looking to talk to someone who knows someone who can point me in the right direction (Yeah, you know the deal.. networking 101) Anyway, share your experience and/or comments! Matt

I just respray my panels with primer. No mess, no fuss. I love ghetto. I might never paint my car for this reason Cars looking good dude. Got pics of the wheels your putting on?
-
Coming along nicely dude. I noticed that your IC piping is rather long and twisting. Remember you want to keep the piping as short as possible while keeping amount of bends and radius to a minimum. Maybe cut that metal one a bit shorter and throw a 90 degree joiner on and go from there. I duno - just a suggestion. I'm liking the tricky oil cooler placement too. You could even make a cool lower intake shroud out of some sheet metal for it. Mmmm sheetmetal ducting.. and rivets... Argh, must stay away from forced induction! Anyway, Keep it coming bro!

Sorry buddy looks like they've already gone to the tip.

So much hate, haha! Pads are some middle of the range bendix blahs. Rotors are BNT somethings. Yeah I know I shouldnt be expecting much, but IMO it feels like theres no feel at all in the pedal. No love at all man.. no love! I think I shall swap in a new MCL and some braided lines after the paint. Maybe some nicer pads too. See how it goes and then have another rage. Cheers for the info Cam - no doubt you'll have some more questions closer to the time For now, have a crappy cellphone pic of the front aero.

Another one to this list. Mind you, I probably did 50km worth in the last few days.

Cheers buddy. The car will look like a totally different once the ugly duckling panda mutant recieves its kit and paint. Cheers dude. Currently is got ghetto Im thinking new MCL and some braided lines to start me off. Thanks for your sympathy "cry cry cry" haha... Cheers dude. Haha I know, i know.. But i really couldnt resist.. Im an aero whore! Where do you guys get your braided lines from? Racebrakes? Thanks Glen, I saw that pop up before. I've been doing a bit of brief reading on E30 LSD's and it looks like there are several casing flavours out there. Can someone confirm that my 325 is a Medium case? With my last cars we could just swap backing plates over to make things fit. Is it the same deal with the E30's or would I need to remove the entire guts and swap it all over into the new casing? I think I'll read up on the swaps and look at it seriously.. Thanks, Matt

Shes mack. Okay so this afternoon after re-bleeding the brakes I took the car for a hack along some local roads. Halfway along this road I hit the only piece of traffic in the area in the form of a Rav4 driving soccer mum. Just as I caught up to the desperate housewife I glanced to my rear vision mirror only to see this new black V8 Commodore rapidly threading its way through the corners to my rear. Soccer mum then decides to pull into a driveway. Now what better a way to spend 10 mins testing the cars newly bled brakes than a spirited sprint through the hills. Now I would love to say that the mighty (engine about to grenade) E30 decimated the commonwhore.. But unfornately this was not the case. However during our little 5min sprint I noticed several things. Firstly being that my brakes suck.. And I mean REALLY suck.. Its like the pads are made out of cheese. There is absolutely no feeling in the pedal, its spongy and lifeless and generally horrid. It makes me hate my life. (Well OK, maybe not.. But imagine a new level of seriously sh*tty brakes) I also noticed that although the Commodore was FAR quicker on the straights (duh..) That the E30 did surprisingly well through the tight twistys. Although this presented another problem - Because I'm running a depressing open diff, the car would constantly be spinning one wheel from corner apex to exit unless I backed off... I know..Lame. Seriously Lameballs. Anyway so are there any mods brake-wise that I should invest in? Obviously theres the simple things like braided lines, race/street pads and flashy fluid. But what about things like different master cyls? Yes I know I need an LSD. I know. I know. Im poor. Cant afford 12 million euro. I stopped for some snappy snap on the way back too:

Haha keep guessing. PS - You'll be happy to know I'm ditching the PFL front lip in favour of an IS one. All for you man.. all for you.. Haha!

Choice looking pictures bro. Should be three 4-door tech 2's when I get mine sorted. (its neither black nor white!)

Haha sorry gents. I've been fairly busy with work lately and haven't really had much of a chance to update this thread. (read: Ok, I've been lazy) A few weeks back I took the car for another shakedown and managed to split a coolant hose at the back of the engine. I just got around to replacing it today and everything is running nicely engine-wise now (apart from the holes in the exhaust and the fact the engine sounds like its going to grenade.. But no biggie!) Stuff thats on its way: IS front lip to replace my ghetto PFL one FRP door pods Mtech II rear bumper Clear side repeaters (yes.. I know I have more rice than uncle Ben) Clear front indicators Stuff I need to get before paint: New bonnet.. Maybe a new front bumper cover? We can't really paint it without the rest of the kit, so I am pretty much at a stalemate untill all my bits arrive. But what I can do is hit you with some pics of another project! So my friend Mark picked up a Junker E30 the other day… Cheap cheap! Engine wise it had a dying auto 2L in it. It also came with adjustable front shocks (only height) and cut rear springs which was a total bonus!.. Ok well.. the cut springs arent exactly a bonus.. We’ve got plans to install a M50B25 from a BMW E34. However, I suspect this won't be enough for what we’ve got planned so you may see some bolt on forced induction at a later date.. Sorry about the shitty photos, left the camera at home (fail-o-thon) Bro. Sick. So we pulled the old engine out and gutted the interior. Old donk New engine with custom desert storm cam cover flaking paint. Oh! And we brought the “Forget RB20DET’s… this sh*t is powered by flowers†Laurel out of retirement. More to come. Same bat-time, same bat-channel.

I paid $350 for BW001DP1. Which is for all four FRP pods.
