  1. why wud u buy a 2 grand merc when you can have a nice e36 323 325 for similar money? its a no brainer to me. just a matter of waiting for the right one edit: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-877567600.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-874516959.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-876305777.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-870127267.htm
  2. that leather stitched dash and console is really special isnt it. just looked thru the picture again and i gotta say, those are some crap photos by whoever took them.
  3. always the same debate but is there any reason you want/need the 316 or 318 over the 323? i think fuel economy is quite similar if not the 6cyl a bit better and its nicer to drive and less likely to have oil leak issues.
  4. I imagine seats wouldnt be too much of a problem but its the other parts like console etc that might be harder to find. is there any way to get it refabricated or dyed black somehow? i would think black interior would look much better on a silver car than tan which looks good on black or green cars IMO.
  5. its great to own one e38 but now you have TWO and one is a NZ NEW 750i not iL. great find and really glad its going to a good home! that blue interior though.....
  6. the thing is the tyres come in massive bulk in containers usually from japan or other random countries. they dont actually sit there for years as they actually do sell pretty quick.. their stock is always "new" as in just arrived to them but they do have some old stuff that probably isnt fit for sale. but at the same time there is no way for them to test each tyre because as you have seen, its a massive place with $hitload of tyres. it is a bit dangerous though.. but ive still had some really good stuff from them before, i always get trusted brand and model + check out the year of manufacture and get it fitted at a proper tyre shop so they can tell me if something is not right instead of taking my $20 and chucking it on the car.

would graham (username gjm) be interested in this for his daughter? looks nice and with the m40 engine too
  8. oh right. i didnt see the bit about $60 which obviously means it was all 4. I thought it was $19 for the one repair and balancing. that is quite odd. and how they repaired it is even more odd and shouldnt need balancing if that was the case.
  9. i think the specs are: 18x7.5 et49 18x8.5 et52

^ Nik's gotta do what hes gotta do to get by right?
  11. you can get +50hp by getting a msport badge. OR if you upgrade your 135i badge to 1M then expect around 100-120hp gains. no lies. edit: $10 on trademe. save $990. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/auction-879754120.htm
  12. there are certainly dodgy tyre places but just because a car is new and "only" travelled 12,000kms, doesnt mean it wont need alignment and balancing. it can be required even after leaving the shop if u drive over a pot hole or hit a curb etc. its not something that "goes bad" after a certain distance travelled. and also if a tyre needs puncture repair, then obviously the tyres come off, and its necessary to get it balanced properly to ensure even tread wear and also so the car drives straight etc
  13. its a shame the tyres from mcphails didnt work out but they are generally good with returns replacements and refunds from what ive seen while i was there. always a bit of luck when buying 2nd hand and its important to check the manufacture date, not just tread depth. very lucky it didnt bust on you while you were away for the weekend but I wouldnt have risked going away on them especially because they were only supposed to last you a while until you could afford good NEW tyres.
  14. The car will be getting brand new ignition coils and spark plugs by next week. same price at $11500 and if no interest will have no choice but to list on trademe where the lowest 2006 323i msport is $12900 and most other similar spec'd cars are arond $15000-17000.
  15. red paint has lighter and more aerodynamic molecules and hence more streamline when going fast. it will most definitely be faster than a silver car which has more friction against the wind.

    BMW 850i 1991

    6 keys? lol crazy
  17. saw this on tm and was amazed at the condition. looks fantastic. slightly high in terms of price considering most other e36 328i coupe msport can be had for less than half of this but then again, it wont be as nice and low kms etc so still a great buy for the right buyer. glws
  18. buy my w211 only half a v12 though haha
  19. very nice looking car and great price with the low kms what are you planning to change to?
  20. was it 10inch wides at the rear? haha good ol alice

    US M3

why is it not a 'real' m3?
  22. ^francois u need those m5 style mirrors!
  23. just adapt to the situation and drive safe. going 90kmh or 110kmh wont make a huge difference to your travel time but if u crash it might be a matter of life and death. u never know.
  24. if thats the case.. e28 all the way haha
