Its supposed to be a cheap car but we both know its too easy to spend spend spend on these cars especially when parts are plentiful. Ugh. What have i done... again..

There isnt much i need because i dont want to spend money on panels and bumper parts. Planning to sand and spray diy. More fun this way anyway.

aaaand another one.. It needed a super good clean inside and out. The interior had the typical sagging headlining and broken glovebox missing parcel tray etc. Has been given a thorough clean now and reupholstered the headlining in nice brand new black fabric, already had the black sunvisors as it is motorsport, bought a new glovebox lid and parcel tray from pickapart and now looking much better than before. Any tips on how to restore the faded parcel tray without covering it in fabric? maybe a spray dye or something? Drivers seat needs to be stitched up and picked up an armrest centre console to install, also the stereo is held on by black electrical tape.. will need to fix that but AUX works and sounds decent! Will need to be tinted but otherwise pretty good interior wise. Only issue is windows and sunroof just suddenly refuses to work and so I need to wait a few minutes then it will work again randomly. Strange! I think it had an aftermarket alarm at some point as it makes a weird beeping noise but not sure. Exterior.. oh man, typical red paint. Hellrot, literally rotting away clearcoat on almost every panel. Overall needs some love. Front nose panel and bumper, passenger guard is the worst. few dings here and there but its ok for now. Mechanically, again typical M44, does leak a couple drops of engine oil but doesnt seem too excessive. Idles nicely and revs freely, drives quite good also. The 4 speed auto is the biggest let down, manual box would be ideal but it is what it is. Anyway, some photos!

from your previous wheels fitment, for the front your offset is gonna be 6mm higher which means wheels will sit in 6mm towards strut BUT your wheel width is going from 7.5" to 8" which means your outer "lip" of the wheel is going to stick out another 6.35mm so basically your wheel face is going to fit exactly same as before but you have 6mm more metal towards your strut/inner guard which is why you may need a spacer for the front. for the rear, you are going from 8.5" to 8.5" so no change but offset is again going positive from ET41 to ET50 so 9mm towards the strut. and 9mm more guard gap compared to before. so again a 10mm spacer will make it basically the same "flushness" as before. 1mm more filled actually. WIN! but you can get away without spacer in the rear because heaps of people run style 68 which are 8.5" with ET50 on the rear for E36 no problems and that is with 245 40 17 tyres on the back which is quite comparable to your 255 35 18 for the rear in same offset and wheel width.

you will get away without any spacers even for the rear I would say but 10mm wont hurt. and it definitely wont need guard work, it will tuck inside no problem. fronts you may need the 10mm spacers for strut clearance or scrapes on the inner guard when turning full lock but not 100% sure on that one. what style wheels are they?
-
just to be 100%, what car are you fitting them on? those offsets are quite high if it is for an E36, you could easily fit a 20mm spacer in there

hahaha graham, where did you find this nice project! at the perfect time too!

first you need to buy, in order to sell oh wait... was it sell first then buy? I dont know anymore..

It really grinds my gears the lack of attention people give to spelling. Especially in the professional work email environment, I take extra care to double, triple check the name of the person I am writing to (even more careful if foreign name) but probably 50% of the people I talk to daily email me as kyo instead of kyu. its bloody 3 letters cant be that hard.. (sorry off topic)

Lesson of the day; If you want to modify a car with different engine etc like Allan, make sure you import the base car you are starting with and register it in advance as what you want it to be, e.g. VW Touran 3.2 Big Boss VR6 EpicMVP the Shiznit, and THEN do the mod. Or stick with twink on the rego sticker

anyone got 2 fronts? I was ideally looking for the ET20 17x8 square if possible, 4 fronts off E39.
-
Anyone have a set of 17" style 32's lying around? @_ethrty-Andy_ did you ever use that set I sold you ages ago?
-
all it is is a stock standard 318 manual that had AC badgers placed on it and then imported to NZ and registered as such.

Better blues around IMO. Atlantis metallic: Le Mans blue also very nice as always and Santorini blue (looks EXACTLY like those Santorini rooftops) http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1306027
