the main most common issue with the E34 and headlight problems is the light control module or LKM.In the main fuse box under the bonnet there is a long black module, labelled LKM.Inside there are several mini relays. The solder can crack around these relays giving intermittent contacts... http://www.bmwe34.net/Wiki/tiki-index.php?page=LKM+and+Relay

the yellow stuff is actually a protective coating applied by the factory, called cosmoline. There are some realy good resources for the e32 750 this guy in particular.Dont be confused by the e 34 forum. The e32 and the e34 have a lot in common.

I agree...we had a 1986 ish toyota corona....2 l fuel injected...the thing lived for years and years on oil changes only, witht he occasional spark plug change. It strarted first time evry time, would fire instantly, mosttimes you didnt even hear the starter.....it had a lot of rust tho, and eventually cracked the head after running low on coolant after the water pump crapped out....It was bloody good on petrol too, although it did need super

i am under the impression that style 5 are 5 series offsets...I may well be wrong, also i dont think that "std" style 5s" had quite so much dish as that pic.E39 style fives will have a 74 mm or so bore,as opposed to the 72.5 of 5,6,7 and eights....
