even with a clean license etc the premium for a 540 745 etc will be more than say a 525 or 728 of the same value -

make sure you get all the air out...heater on,front of car slightly uphill, and radiator is not clogged and all the brarhers to expansion tank are clear

at 13-14 l 100 ks thats not much better thabn a 535...but if you are really stop go you could get ointo the 17 l 100 k in a 535 or 540....and a 525 i suspect

manual 540b hard to find, but manual 535 not common either.540 will probably be slightly better on gas than a 535,but 535 slightlr cheaper/easier to work on in aother ways.My normal running gets bme about 550 kay for 62 litres, but i dont get caught in much traffic and i drive pretty eay most of the time.On the open road i would get well over 600 ks for 62 litres, but again i am pretty cruisy most of the time(a few third gear passing manouvres bring back the grin)

the i 6 apart from packaging still has many desireable chacteristics tho..esp for a companty that is almost 100 per cent rwd.

i have never seen a breakdown by country, ussually just lhd or rhd euro and american models
-
thats right....its the people witht hte problems who post,so you see a whole page of problems, but what about the other thousand(s),however certain themes become evident(say Mafs and cps and vanos solenoids on E 39 M5s)
-
its a hard thing to quantify.I have done quite a lot of research into E39 M5 and if you beleive what you read on the net they are nightmares of cars to own,but i have asked a M5 owner straight up and he has had no problems in 120 000 ks "apart from a set of sensors".But These are serious cars and some parts are more expensive than the run of the mill counterparts...I think it fair to say they WILL be expensive to run
