  1. isnt that the same as being ealrt cos you are breaking the law.....you are alert cos you are likely to get nabbed by the cops!
  2. also consider even a going motor can be a head gasket ready to blowwww.It may seem uneconomic but what can you byt for that sort of money that will be a known quantity which your car will be when its fixed...
  3. nice!do you know the width and offset?

    X5 4.4

deisels very torquey so day to day are very very good...but they lack that punch you get from giving(say an m30 or M60 a bloody good rev out...)prolly not what you would do in an x5 nyway.Big displacement petrols are very toruquey too though but you pay to play....
  5. Cant order from them..its often cheaper to get stuff from the US but the size of the items may make the postage prohibitive...
  6. do the E39 also suffer from the fusible link crack?Maybe first sign of that?
  7. sheesh the thing hasnt even had a stereo fitted!
  8. i think there is an a E28 forum,mye28 or similar

get him to drive one....he will surely then choose an X5 over a jeep.Dont discount the 3.0 petrol or even a deisel, see if you can get him to try one of those too.the 3.0 petrol are at least 170 kw(no wait thats the deisel!)The 3.0 six is one of the best engines BMW have made..
  12. it can be confusing but check out this site http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do if you enter your chassis number(last 7 numbers of the vin you get parts supposedly specific to your car,but i dont think that will pply to a body kit.You will need to look for mtech or aero body kit....the ther way is to look at a M5(not a specific one just choose them from the lists) and see what parts they use and then choose the similar ones from a diagram for your car
  13. i havent been there but apparenty Bath is intersting
  14. i dont like using the mobile whilt driving, and if i do its in low stress ituations like fairly orderly traffi on the motorway.....I might fire off a text at a traffic light or make a call at a traffic light but i try not too.A cell phone takes away your omcentration from driving. And we all KNOW that it takes only a moments inatention.....
  15. those ZA radiators look sexy....theywould have to become part of the car cleaning routine ,they look so good!Does the E39 have the viscous clutch on the fan as standard, and the electric fan replace that....or is the e 39 fan electric from new?
  16. thats pretty much how i felt too.Good short description!
  17. i dont know if the brake light switch is different to a std one.I wouldnt go for a second hand one,its ikely to be in much the same condition to yours....go to the dealer and buy one,it will be less than a tank of gas .
  18. actually i beleive i can make a couple of objective criticisms of the e39.I went for a drive in a nice 540 6 speed, and i must say it was NOT a quantum leap over my 535...ok the engine was absolutely fantastic and it looks like it would use LESS petrol than my 535...but the rest of the car was nothing special at all.It looked smart because it had the facelift lights and mtech body kit and 18 in bbs wheels. My car felt much more responsive and tighter and less rattly on the way home.BUT the engine......did i say anything about the engine.?
  19. there is also aplace in welly that hires BMW...willis/vivian where the motorway comes into town, have only seen red e 36s there tho.
  20. http://www.bimmer.info/bmw/kiwi535/index.html old pics but you should get the idea.I have wheels similar to yours now,and it will have brand new mats by then!
  21. how about a black on black version of yours :)other option is look on car club website http://www.bmwclub.co.nz/market-place/178.html
