  1. i would say most of us would be looking for a design in keeping withour cars....a great number of which must be, or are aproaching 20 years old
  2. as the original poster I think you are the nly one who can add a poll to this thread,,,,If this was a poll i would vote for the silver/blue metallic colour , E28 one of the few BMWs to suit lighter colours IMHO... when you first ade the pot there i a line immediately above the main text box with"manage poll options for this post...."or something like that. You may be able to go in and edt your original post and go from there...you will give us some choices or is that what you want the help with?
  3. hmmm wonder if that donk will mate up to the getrag...E34 545IM
  4. they are e39 rims arnt they???You will need hubcentric rings....Nice looking car RXsumo is the guru for teh early fives.....
  5. I noticed this too when i first got my car..you may notice though that there is comparitively less "squat" when actually accellerating and visa versa when braking, some anti squat chacteristics built in to the rear suspension...why it loads up when first engaging gears, I dont know.

    New Car

now thats an upgrade!,very nice colur combo too!
  7. dont know .There are satellite receivers that have built in PVR,and i have a dvd recorder already. So i could get one of those (perhaps) instead of a straight freeview box.
  8. i know desktops are more bang for buck but the laptop i can use anywhere in the house and take to the occasional car club thing /meeting etc.Plus its a whole lot more tidy than a desktop, just dump it under the coffee table and its gone.....Not to run the TV Martyn just to either download of the web or maybe record/decode/watch from some satellite feeds???The main TV system will be the tradional TV and dvd recorder(hdmi compatible ),albeit sky/freeview/other satellite paraphenalia attached.
  9. Yes,but if you want a genuine Alpina you will have to pay a premium I guess...how much of a premium is the question. Did Alpina offer brake and suspension upgrades too? The other one is still about 30,000 isnt it?.

    yeah happy birthday old boy.....
  11. http://www.germanplates.com/ is the place i think. these plates are probably illegal, but at the moment no one seems to care,as the proper administration is still being contolled by plates .co .nz.n post etc .The yellow plates would be no more illegal than the others, but they will be a hell of a lot more obvious!
  12. i have an old compaq laptop and it is as slow as a wet week......It take minutes sometimes to swap between applications or even websites.. So I am prolly go to the dell website and get/spec up a new one,so i need some advice on a good, but not killer spec. I use it mainly for the web,and it will be the family interface to the web, which at the moment is a std xtra broadband setup I do some emailing,a little bit of word and excel stuff, dont game online . See above title though, cos i am starting to dabble in satellite tv.I follow motogp and i want to see if i can find some FTA coverage of the practise sessions etc.this may be via a new set up or something downloaded of the web???So i want to find out how to find coverage on the web or how to find which tv chanels have fta coverage....then to see if i can aim a satellite dish at the satellite carrying that coverage.Dont worry about the specifics of that there are forums and recourse for that.I just need a push in the right direction! All that rave is so you can help me with anyhardware on the laptop i might need!
  13. thanks..that just about covers it doesnt it!
  14. so all you guys are basically getting copies of existing plates???If you wanted a new personalised plate could you say check with plates .co.nz,get it made in germany then just front up to a rego centre with your plates....or would you be charged for new plates anyway??????
  15. 799 is only the euro/ bmw/personalised plates isnt it?
  16. even if you state they ARE replicas? Is this driven by safety concerns or is it the OEM companies ?Who are "they"

  21. yes when i was looking for my 535 i had a chat with a dealer who had an auto one in his yard(he said I would NOT find a manual one) and he looked at some little book and said they cost 125,000 when new....the 535is would have had at least 10,000 worth of options though....This was a little bit more than the little house we bought in Wadestown a couple of years before that....
