That may be true Jochen but mine is a 1990 model. Some people say the wiring changed around this time. The real oem parts site suggests that there was a change 9/89. The plugs remained the same but the pin designation changed BMW also have wiring adapters but they dont know what i have got so cant sugget what I need The DICE ipod adapter has all the cables(I think).I knew my existing CD changer cable would be no good

the "secret" to my (planned)upgrade is I have bought a much later model CD business stereo(bmw-blaupunkt cd43).My difficulty will be wiring that into my car,as i understand the plugs are the same but the actual pin designation has changed. It may be though that the plugs on my car are also not the same.

how you going with this Andrew.Got my stereo and DICE ,went to the dealer to get an adapter for pre 91 car to accept new pin out config. They couldnt actually tell me which adapter i needed without seeing the wiring. The guy i bought the stereo from also sent an extra little harness so the DICE worked with the CD43.Have to tap three wires

not E60 M5,s I dont think,E39 M5,s and E60 545 and 550 only,V10 not allowed?Apparently the 550 is a bit fragile yet

black car keep it chrome IMO
-
after getting you for that he probably thought you were be a dead cert for something equally as stupid...if you dont want to be stopped then dont do 140 ks in a place that is prolly the place for speeding near Hamilton
-
I reckon the status quo(far from perfect) is miles better than any alternative
-
no but there is a black one and a red one!
-
if you want a E34 M5 replica look for a 535 manual. Most will be a"sport" with the M5 body kit and most of the interior. There is a real E34 m5 on trademe a the moment

park distance control....... you are comparing pretty different cars. The 540 is one of the most powerful and refined mid to large four door sedans you could find ....ever. They are not cheap to run or maintain, and the 528 or 530 would handle marginally better,(read feel slightly less front heavy).I would seriously consider one myself if i could get a half decent price for my 535 and i was looking at a six speed manual

first off welcome! To start your education most car have also a spare wheel, steering wheeland flywheel....hahah:)

paekak is cool, but i am always aware that there may be fast cars or motorbikes coming the other way,and the road is very narrow in places...i just leave the 5 in third all the way

keep n eye out for a race series on tv called superstars??? mostly e 39 M5s but some E60 545 and 550 too.The supercharged jags clean up tho.....Strange rules,5 liter v8 is the engine config,I dont know which model Jag but I guess it must be the 4.2 supercharged donk.... I note the 535 bonnet isnt exactly a neat fit either!

freight will be worth checking out to.By sea in a container will be quite cheap, get a freight forward cmpany to sort it for you
-
a sad commentary of our times that "celebrities " have such huge appeal.
-

-
just dont drive a 740 if you think you might actually want a 728!

Wheel diameter question for upgrading E39
kiwi535 replied to a13antichrist's topic in Wheels & Tyres
as long as the original diameter is adhered to the speedo is correct. You will probably find that all factory tyre wheel combos for the E39 result in the same o/a diameter so the 17 in tyre will be a 235 45 17 or a 255 40 x18 ie the profile drops to keep the dia the same. These arent real figures just dreamed up ones!
