the main battery is under the rear seat on a e34 535.Depending on your model you will also find the amp for the stereo on the lhs of the boot.If you rlooking for black boxes you will find plenty under the rear seat as well!
-
its an auxillary battery,it was fitted iwth certain other accessories(I dont know what specifically)When i first got my car i literally pulled out evry single thing that wasnt scewed down and i found the same battery (LH side boot?)>the previous owner didnt even know it was there and at some time there had been a spill cos the boot floor was covered with baking soda. The battery was as dead as,so i removed it and the cradle it sits onI havent had any battery issues. Its connected to the main battery via a large red cable ,with some kind of relay switching it in and out.Perhaps a good idea if you have a stereo from hell.....

Went for a drive today Couldnt be to specific re actual specs but seems to have every available option, feels quite different to the 535,engine very impressive, body, paint ,interior not quite as good as mine. Did i mention the engine! Steering and brakes felt wooden and unresponsive compared to the 535 Has the memory seats too and the left mirror drops down when you engage reverse, didnt notice cruise control! But that engine......

agree with the last two poster...the problem is finding the good uns...what the hell was he doing in the tool kit anyway?
-
what is the difference Cain between yours and an IS,they dont have the edc suspension...anything else?Do the NZ 540 run cats and O2 sensors or were they built for dirty petrol(ie leaded?)
-
he will have job selling that one seeing the welly one with less than half the ks is past reserve at 10...style 5 wheels I think hate the interior colour,my wheel is non airbag Cain....
-
its a pretty mint/special car for 10000
-
do you want a hole in the sump?
-
sh*t....theres condensation on the car, never mnd the wheels!
-
Apparently one reason why the battery is under the rear seat!
-
How the hell do you "start" a slide at that speed?I have had mine sliding a couple of times but have had to really try.....I guess i aint going fast enough....Is it an M5 do ya reckon?

540 badge wrong side, bloody //m badge on it,look like the one for sale about a year ago... Cains car is very special there wont be another in NZ .Its actually a Aussie Model we didnt get it,so the 540 IS would have been THE 5 series in 1994.If it goes for anything like the price thats on it its a bloody good car for that money, looks in good nick too.
-
as far as i know the 540 is come with metrics!.The one that was for sale down here had 16's i wonder if it is the same one.. Cant see trademe at work...

All yesterday they were saying the only way open was vis New Plymouth!

the E34 doesnt havean eternal aerial(in case you havent noticed!)there is an aplifier "thingy" at the end of a coax cable near the rear window.I beleive this "box" gets its power from the stereo somehow .if the power isnt connected to the box you get virtually no signal for the radio..I am sure Jochen will fil in some details!

UK import? SE spec 535 in britain prolly brings the car up to the sort of spec the "normal" 535 was in NZ. I think virtually every NZ 535 in would have had the full obc, electric sunroof, etc etc. So as Cain said A= Auto,SE = SE spec= normal NZ spec car And rwhp on 535 manual is around 140kw

just checking i hve a etk etc and it is definetly more usa oriented.Whilst there is a euro part catalog a lot of the troubleshooting and eletrical info doesnt have the detals on the euro cars.
-
are these applicable to euro cars.
