Fairly sh*t quality paintjob, and aren't those Brook's wheels? Not for me thanks, and not even all that reversible. They're asking too much aswell...

Broke the mr2. Giving it a thrash on the way home from Poker tonight and must have broken the gearlinkage as the lever has gone all floppy and it's stuck in 4th. Will have a look in the morning when I'm not pining from losing by going all in on a straight and getting pwned by a river that turned my bluffing opponents garbage into a flush.

I dig them.

More than the weaves. Not sure of current prices with the nz $, but say around $1k-1200 for the set?

If your intake boot is cracked and leaking that'll be the cause of your hunting idle. Good old vacuum leak. Replace that and you may fix the problem entirely.

So that's why mine did the same thing on Monday (day after yours). Sympathy. Turns out a coolant hose had deteriorated from the inside where it pushes onto the thermostat housing. Finally got thin enough to force a tiny hole and spill its guts on the drive after a hard drive. I'm sick of leaks, rattles and a rough idle. I hate how I clipped the control arm bush backing down my drive and bent something. I'm sick of repainting my front spoiler every 12months from Northlands sh*t house roads. Can't wipe the grin off my face though

Chris - the law is murky. A law lecturer once advised our class not ever to make a citizen's arrest. Even though you may not get prosecuted, often the perp gets off as it muddies the legal waters so to speak, then if they do get off they can ask the police to lay charges on you for unlawful imprisonment and assault or some sh*t. I may not have it all right, but the advice was to not. That said, if you confront them and they attack you, you can use reasonable force to defend yourself. You can demand they leave, if they don't its trespass. If they attack you it's assault, if they damage property its wilfull damage, if they pick up an object and attack you its assault with a weapon or aggravated assault, and so on. Which gives you a fair license to retaliate. I wouldn't recommend it though. Chances are you'll get your head kicked in, or you'll go too far and the legal system will pwn you, or they'll take off only to come back with fellow meatheads and weapons to "sort you out".

Practicality to hell - it is the devil!

Welcome - smart move. Best thing to do to an e30 is get the suspension properly sorted early. You'll love the difference in handling dynamics and chuckability. Get some konis (talk to the race series guys for a part number) or Bilstein Sports for shocks. Both a fairly good paring for the eibachs. Basket weaves come up semi-regularly on trademe for between $500/600 and 800 depending on size, condition, and tyres. Sometimes you can score a cheaper bargain if you are prepared to look around. Auto or manual???

OK kids. Settle down. Welcome Karley. You're welcome here regardless of your taste in wheels. Sometimes these guys forget their cars are far from perfect.

Certainly look like LM's, and thats a BBS logo on the centre cap. Very nice buy - owner is either realistic, or doesn't know what he has as parted out that'd be worth a fair bit more than the asking.

We used to have a white one of these, same year, sans spotlightsin even better condition. Red leather in a white '67 mercedes ftw! Front bench seat badasness. Sadly it was written off. -

The 6 cyl boxes fit all 6 cyl cars (the e30 getrags will even fit the m50 series motors - just need the m20 flywheel and starter motor).

The old boys Landcruiser is fairly awesome. We've towed an 8.5m Rayglass Protector behind it fully laden on a braked trailer (that's half a tonne of fuel plus the boat and trailer) - about 4.5 tonne all up plus nearly 2.5 tonne of vehicle over the Brenderwyns no prob. Not at the speed limit though. Also towed cars on trailers. Performs well offroad, and is worth less than 10k. If you want it go like a cut cat there is a company in Oz that sells Chevy v8 diesel conversions for about 10k plus installation. We drove one over there. Torque monster. Probably not something you'd end up doing, but the standard vehicle is good enough.

My insurance doesn't offer agreed value, however, they will accept an independant evaluation at time of claim of replacement value, and will pay out this value or the insured value whichever is less, minus any excesses. So I have mine insured for what I think I could convince a valuer it's replacement value is (so less than what it would cost me to replace, but more than I'd get if I sold it). It's the best I can do.

If you want to do it once, properly and don't mind spending $$$ Remus would be my number one recommendation. That said, my coby and cheap-ass stainless rear box sound pretty good, although I can't tell whether they make a positive contribution to performance if I'm 100% honest.

Flew to Colorado to pick up a sight unseen car...

Best read of the year. You have some skill with language! Not sure how you missed that tyre though! I wouldn't have driven past the first tyre shop with it that bald! Sounds like you came through it ok, so two thumbs up! Cheers for the awesome thread. -

I'm going to have a play with virtualdub and AutoGK to see how I get on. At the moment my biggest problem is finding a codec for the AVI files from the camera. vlc plays them fine, WMP only plays the audio, and AutoGK and Vdub and WMM won't recognise the files. Took a few mins of footage last night until I split a radiator hose. Will try and get fixed quickly after work and take some more.
