  1. I love that X5 shape. One of my favorite BMWs Nice machine Clinton!
  2. Um tacky much? Just get Euro M3 ones, swap them over if they are the in same range. At least then your putting German quality parts into the car.
  3. Probably bearings or disks, hard to know for sure unless one has heard it. 48,000kms? 1996 E36? Really... Wheel bearings should last at least 100,000 miles anyway. From my experience on early Lexus models they dont go bad until at least 250,000ks.
  4. Yeah, I think I totally missed what it was all about when it was ACTUALLY happening. Must be a few threads about it if I do a search. Only picked up what went on with it earlier this week.
  5. Apparently now up to $3,000,000,000 USD have been invested into this program!
  6. This made me feel rather sick to the stomach
  7. This is a rather impressive build. Marvelous work Tony!
  8. Hmmmm Interesting, interesting. Oh well, I guess a 24V motor conversion will be on the cards then? A fairly worth while upgrade IMO... but is the rest of the car in good condition? IE, would it be worth spending the few grand upgrading the engine in your E30?
  9. I must say this is without a doubt the best looking BMW on the new line up by a mile. Not for long though... seems another new 3 series is due out soon... I will be interested to see the M3 version of that.
  10. ^ Hmm so $11,800 Cheap... that car has depreciated 96% of its original value.
  11. Interesting. Wonder if it will go for more than 10k.
  12. Yeah. They do need work, but I think done the right way they could look very nice. I would take one over a 4 door Sedan E36 any day though. Coupe > Estate > Sedan!
  13. I agree Graham. 29k is too much for one of those now, unless it was a 2003 with half those ks. Plus... centrifugal superchargers are pretty lousy units.
  14. Gosh all these catastrophic engine failures when the timing belt/chain fails! Guess that is why I like to stick with my early Lexus V8 engines, no such a problem if that occurs in the rare event (non interference) Regarding the new car choice... I would probably steer clear of an older Audi, sure they are nice cars but I wouldn't want to own one hearing about what can go wrong and will go wrong. Perhaps another BMW might be a better way to go? For that sort of money and less you could get a really nice E39 V8 or a Cheaper E46...
  15. I would be worried that a piston may have hit the valves, like what Glen said because of the timming going out some how... the lack of compression in two cylinders seems to say something has gone wrong. Damaged valves.. not sealing properly? Hard to say with out seeing it up close though. If it ends up being a costly repair.. Perhaps time for a M50B25 or M52B28 conversion instead?
  16. That is a nasty thing to have happen, but I guess you have to be prepared for the unexpected with your car at that height.
  17. Shall be great once it's open though. However as with most upgrades like this it will just force the bottle next some place else... I am especially looking forward to the tunnel opening under Victoria park as part of the new motorway in the city. Will be great to hear the engine exhaust sounds echo on the walls!
  18. I've never liked them some how. Better off to just own an E34 which is a newer more refined version, made into a 5 series.
  19. Optimistic telling by the condition...
  20. That is ridiculous.. What a way to ruin a car & waste money!
