i said max spending limit of $1500 meaning nothing over $1500 thinking about it a $500ish spending cap would probably be better, with no limit on money spent on safety, ie roll cage, seat, harness and tires also, since its a 2hr race, was thinking 2-4 drivers per team with a limit of 1hr's driving per person was thinking a limit of 20 teams with a $25 deposit to cover track hire, too kick things off FYI all drivers will need a competitors license.

Just wondering anyone would be up for a LeMons (lemons) race like they have in the states, LINKY, around march next year on the club track at Hampton Downs? If the first event is successful it may become a series. If you are keen, a website has been put up ... LINKY First event is set to take place on the evening of Friday the 6th of November.

+2 what size brake disc are you using on the front?

i read that as him putting his notebook up ya skirt and having a look and saying it looks under the legal limit for ....uno moving on....... bit retarded on the whole exhaust thing, IIRC the officer doesn't have to even take a measurement to sticker ya, its all up to the way he/she feel's about it on the day.

nice, you've done a great job on swapping it from a convertible to a coupe what color you looking at painting it?

Update All the m3 flares are now fitted, same with rear wing build has been set back another week due to the decision of putting a new fuel tank in the boot Exhaust has been fitted and a plate made to keep the heat from disforming the rear bumper
-
yeah, the guys at raceFX reckon it dosent really need one, also delmonts turbo beast dosent have one they keep on stressing to keep the car soft

this may shock some of you but its not running a rear sway bar to start out with

they usaly go funny when the SI board battrys die, my old e30 had a faulty guage, took it apart and most of the electrics on the SI board were burnt, some had melted onto the board itself, it explained why the plastic exterior was brown and not white might pay to have a looksee

I dont see any drifting, just a car spinning with a guy getting in and out, in and out........

nice, for me 575 x .88 = 506 69.2% 500 x .45 = 225 30.8% so using your formula thats 70% front 30% rear combination or if I put the rear spring on the front and the front on the rear I get a closer combination (both are 6" springs) 500 x .88 = 440 63% 575 x .45 = 259 37% hmmmmmmmm

when you try to remember the numberplate of every nice e30 that drives past, to post in the "spotted" tread when you find yourself refreshing the latest post page, just as something to pass time at school, over and over and over whenever you meet someone with a bmw the first thing you ask is if they go on bimmersport when checking the latest posts becomes part of the morning piss routine

the only complicated thing when swapping S50/S54 to standalone ect is getting an aftermarket ECU with dual vanos capability without it costing the earth, it gets mega complicated when messing with whats there tho. edit- glenn pretty much summed what i was going to say even added more info than me

with effective rates of 550/250 it will have a similar setup to the blue Z4 at RaceFX that can do a 1:03:900 with the right driver that car does have an extra 70hp but is also a bit heavier, so who knows how the e30 will compare
-
Were just going springs in the rear with no coil overs, reason for low spring rates is that some of the other cars at raceFx are using 200-300lb rear springs and they are all heavier in the rear, will probably end up putting a slightly harder spring in, I still have 500lb springs that can go in the rear. all will be revealed round the first corner might have to get it on video

Update, no pics till Thursday Over the weekend I bought some shortened rear shocks and a rear wing off Ray (the wing is similar to Tech2 but has a bit more scoop) also the front guards got flared/rolled to make way for the tires. Got new springs, 575lb fronts and 500lb rear, but put some 170lbs in the rear for shits and giggles but it didn't really make much difference so im leaving them in for now and Today they were meant to be cutting the rear guards off to make way for fitting of the m3 flares Also tried to hunt someone down in NZ that can eliminate EWS but failed, so the EWS equipment is coming up from chch with a small chance its the right one. If its not, Ross and BMWorkshop reckons they can re align the EWS and ECU unit's for $60, so no big loss there. All in all it should be ready in a few days, with the wiring as the only thing left to do, since their electrician is away getting married Then Gavins going to run it up on the dyno and see if he can get anymore HP out of it. Then around that time the M3 front spoiler/bumper/splitter should be turning up Then it will be off to the painters to become a black car, anyone got suggestions for shades of black? car should look like this from the front once painted edit- with brake ducts instead of fog lights

The motor is the only thing that seems to be fine, everything else is munted, im pretty sure there is a bit of blood splatter on the dash and the roof caves in where the driver and passenger would sit, so who knows what the outcome was
