  1. I want only the fronts so the most I would be willing to stump up with is $800, does anyone want to take the rest off my hands? Would look good in my white BMW M Compact replica

Been on and off in terms of selling it, just more motivated to sell it now as I need the garage space in order to finish the Alpina and M compact projects.

    316ti Race Car

So even though nothing much has been happening on the car itself, many parts have been acquired in order to finish it off: Crank and other parts needed for the engine rebuild which will start next week. Original Headers 6 speed Gearbox Original MZ3 Radiator (3 core vs 2 and also 1cm thicker than M3 one) E36 TDS oil cooler (20% larger than factory M3 one). DS2 aka sunflower staggered wheels. Engine mounts and other various fittings. At this stage we are going for 100% BMW parts approach and with a bit of luck it will be mostly together by the end of August/Start of September. I am also going to have a big cleanout once I know whats left over, just off the top of my head: -The E30 shell with 316ti suspension and M3 bodykit, willwood pedal set, E36 steering rack, alloy rad and oil cooler, 120L drop tank, roll cage, adjustable anti roll bar. -E36 M3 front ARB -S50B32 headers modified to fit E30 with E36 Rack -S50B32 crank with damage, can be repaired but will need largest oversize bearings (its borderline so would probably only be suitable for road car that not going to be stressed) -E36 5 speed ZF gear selector (was modified from a 6speed) -M50 5 series sump and oil pump. heaps of other odd parts but i'll create a master list on bimmersport before going on trademe.

Just bumping this thread, has a fresh VTNZ WOF and is running beautifully. Can't really see the point in going much less than 9k for a perfectly running 850i as low k ones with heaps of problems have gone for the ~12k mark.
  6. Are the S50B32 and S54B32 runners the same spacing? Wondering if I could be modified to fit a S50B32 in a E36.
  7. Here is a pic of my S50B32 dyno plot, the black line being before the engine rebuild. Engine has as 2nd oversize pistons but made 300rwhp with standard size on the toruqe performance dyno after a freshen up. Non standard parts are Autronic SM4 ECU with a 80mm drain pipe as teh intake onto the standard airbox. The black line the power before any rebuilds when it was getting 190psi on compression test. Rings, bearings etc were then replaced and it went to 210psi using the same method and required a lot more fuel and the ignition to be retarded 2 degrees. Still have vanos working. In terms of advice I can't really help apart from suggesting to do a compression test as that seems to make a huge difference in power output.
  8. Yeah, a e36 323i would sneak under the limit. With a factory 0-100 time of 8 seconds its just as quick as any other car.
  9. We are currently changing the rules to try mix up the field a bit for season 3, and due to the lack of Euro's we are bringing in a "EuroCUP" class that removes the 2000cc limit and puts a 180hp limit on any European cars instead. Season 3 rules will be released at the end of the month, check out the facebook page for updates http://facebook.com/2kcup
  10. yeah, current one is borderline repairable, it bent with the heat and is 20 thou out in each direction, so 40 in total.

17x8.5 ET15, they only fit because there is near 6 degrees camber on the front. But it will be flush at around 4 degrees
  13. Everyone seems to have forgotten about the Integra that ran a type R gearbox in season one and got away with it, he did also provide catering for the final round. Starting to see a theme here.... The majority of the people in 2KCUP will take free food over integrity of the rules(this is proven when we vote for penalties), because everyone knows what a real $2k car is, who have spent mega bucks and who is just having a bit of cheap fun.
  14. The Silvia was a genuine $2k purchase that needed a few things tidied up, in saying that we give a bit of slack for people who are racing in the series for the fun of it. We take great pride in our integrity and we were not swayed by the fact his family also catered the last round free of charge, we are not suckers for free food so make sure if you ever need a food truck you contact https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hungri-Hunter-Ltd/299962780017228 because it was a damn fine feed. Ok, maybe our integrity goes out the window when you put on catering at the final round
  15. A lot of the rules are being broken by people who seem to miss the point, but at least we get epic cars like this entering, sure it comes 3rd to last but at least he's having a blast and taking the piss while doing it:

As far as I can tell, yes. Shifts smoothly.

    BMW 850i 1991

Over the last year there has been the once over done in terms of all the intake rubbers and gaskets which perish with age, now its running perfectly. Was resprayed at some time in its past so the paint work as a whole is quite good. In terms of KM's, it has been driven a lot but it has also had regular maintenance which makes it a really nice car to drive.
  18. Outdated chassis with a heart from an double headed goat in Tony try hards case. Should have used a E36 compact because thats what real men use after they visit the salon.

The 850i really needs to move on now to make way for other projects, offers? 1990 BMW 850iA V12 Has recently been serviced by Ross at BM Workshop (February) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=880184461
  20. There is an E30 320i racing in the series, goes hard but came 3rd to last out of 70 cars at Taupo. I never questioned it on price because the driver has a cool livery and it was never going to do well, I am pretty sure he still bought it for $2k though.

    316ti Race Car

Suspension and brakes done! Also test fitted the rear wing. Only the motor left to swap across now. Running a shitload of camber in the front to get the RK's to fit.

    316ti Race Car

The front wheel is so far forward due to: offset lollipops M3 EVO arms The Camber plates being quite far forward compared to standard M3 tops.

    316ti Race Car

First round of progress: Front suspension and brakes swapped. Rear to be done this week as well as drive line teardown. Aim to have it finished by the end of May. There are some huge advantages starting to show already, because the motor is going into a car it was designed to fit, the motor is sitting about 6 inches further behind the front axle than it was in the e30. This tied in with the fact the wheel base is about 7 inches longer makes for a far better handling car.

    316ti Race Car

Thought I would start a thread to track progress of the 316ti race car. The bulk of the parts are coming from the e30, I'll have a rolling e30 (as per my sig) shell left over at the end of it if anyone is keen. Here it is as it stands currently, looks average and is the most uninspiring car to drive with a mighty 100hp at the fly.
