Most of what youre talking about just have weld on tips. So you can select the look you want. However the generec mufflers are of lower qaulity construction and materials. Usual story, pay for what you get type of thing.

Its cool, e30's are so easy to drive and zip around in. You can drive them so confidentially Mind you the track width and geometery of the 1m run circles around the e30. I was trying to find a video that shows some pretty modified hillclimb E30's going through a chicane then a startdard 1m going through the same chicane, The 1m did it so much faster than everything else.

If you remove the soft limit m5X internals are not built to handle over 7000 rpm safely. The head is where the first problems start to happen (springs), then rods and flywheel. To take it over apart from the above, the harmonic balance of the engine is an issue too. Its even an issue on the s50's over 8500rpm as certain people have been finding out. All of this is all on standard running gear.

Gavin from Hi Velocity can help you there. He has all the correct checksums for your DME to remap it.

The s50b32 still has the issue unfortunately. Its only really a problem with slicks and getting into the conditions I stated above. Fixes are: * Windge tray and baffled / gated sump. Wing the sump for more oil. * Accusump as stated by David. I would run a EPC on a road car to control it as the risk of forgetting to switch it on is too great. * Dry sump * s54 sump and oil pickup system. * For the e30 guys, m50 5 series sump and larger 5 series pickup.

Had a quick look and couldnt find the link .. will have another look later on.

S50bxx engines are worse unfortunately in high g circumstances because of the design of the pick and sump positions. Most happen when the car brakes really hard moving the oil from the rear to the front of the pan (out of the sump well) then the driver starts to corner heavily. EG at a race track. This exposes the pickups and creates gaps in the flow of oil and drops oil pressure rapidly which in turn will spin the bearing. Jamez and I both dont have this problem because we run e34/m50 sumps. The oil well is in the front of the car not the rear. The 5 series pickup is also larger. This was fixed mostly in the s54 design. Tom might be able to elaborate on the s54 big end failure more, I haven't read into it too much.

Alot of people put the wrong grade oil in them and blame the vanos or seals. These engines NEED to run 10w60 grade Castrol TWS or edge sport (same thing in this country) else you will get the rattle sound.

RGM GTRS 3S 750 bhp e92 M3 Enjoy

The thud is ok if its not too violent, a few things that can cause it. Worn value guide, fluid issues (burnt / dirty etc) or the EGS going into over temp mode this is usually accompanied with the car holding its revs, but is a last ditch effort for the car to try and reduce trans fluid temps buy cycling it through the trans cooling system faster. It's not the end of the world just take it easy and dont put lots of load on it. EG cruise it on the way home.

Auto clutch in Auckland. Tell them what you want and they'll guide you on the right setup for what you're trying do. Did mine and it rocks. Wasn't too expensive as far as clutches go either. They're kind of a no bullshit type of crowd so go in with what you're after. Also get the whole lot balanced together afterwards. Flywheel/clutch/pressure plate. A little info on my setup. (Have get around to updating that site at some point!) http://www.bminfo.co.nz/?page_id=67

supersprint are an awesome system however very expensive for what they are. Try Remus exhausts from Woolfe mufflers. Has same / better quality than ss but 1\3rd to 1\2 the price

Welcome and nice to see you're coming to the show n shine! see you there

Could be a few things but the best unfortunately is not to drive it until its looked at by a professional. If it needs replacing here are the options: Rebuilds really aint cheap (4.5-6k :/) master drum rebuild and seal kit, fluid and clutch packs and possibly worn valve guide replacement (gets over looked a lot unfotunately even by the pro's (yes I have been burnt with this) ) Second hand auto trans will be your cheapest option from someone like Ray @ hellbm (see sponsor list) Manual conversion. More expensive that direct replacement however might be worth it in your eyes.

There arent actually that many people with them. I only know of maybe 4-5 sets in the country on e46s. The wheels your possibly thinking of aren't BBS theyre knock offs. Nice car ray good to see a cab floating around!

Something for the daily grind and a fun car for hooning in..

Some info on it. I did this to my e30 and its an amazing upgrade. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12941

But not very good for motorsport, My suggestion would be change it out for a suede steering wheel around 330mm This will give you a quick steering response and have the grip to match your race gloves and doesn't sweat. If your starting from scratch I would suggest swapping the steering rack form a z3 1.9ltr one.. 2.7 turns A lot better
