Welcome to the club. I hit a cat in the 540. Insurance will cover it. Mine payed for a new bumper so I got them to order the m5 bumper instead of the mtech one. Worth doing at 2k for a new bumper (mtech and m5 are the same price.)

Your 1 series uses a different series of electroincs to the above. 300mm I would say is fairly reasonable for most. remember its for everyone and also has to cover towbars and other protruding appendages.

I use a audi 25mm one. Fits my golf mkii uk 1.3 booster perfect. Check out the operation weapons grade thread for photos etc. works great. My break bias was perfect however I used a bias adjust for the track as when fuel got below 1/2 and maximum braking the rears would pinch. Running 332mm front and 315mm rears. Took a mate down the north/west motor way for a brake test with new pads and rotors, nearly put us through the windscreen with its stopping power I was looking at the power assisted e46 setup for while there but I think it would be overkill for an e30

$23000 on the 330i for body work when I owned it. Servicing bill 6k for gear box in 330i. Quickly learnt to service and do things myself

Keep an eye on all of the intake related itemsfor m54 engines, theyre very sensitvie to them im sure youve already read about. One of the checks the shop should of done was scan the real time data of the MAF .. it would show how much airflow was coming into the engine. in KG/min. under WOT it would show fairly quickly that there is issues with airflow/volume

odd test .. I could of picked that from the title.

impressive! .. I like the wheel/brake setup. Cheap slicks!

would pay about 50 for it .... You can get more car and luxary out of a 01 7 series for about 1/5 of that ... or maybe a later model for under half that

problem with e36 steering rack into e30
hybrid replied to Dingo's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Youll be running too much toe in for your front camber. This will make it darty as you mentioned. I had the same issue when I did mine. (z3 2.7 turn rack not e36, same diff) As other have said, full wheel alignment and you wont know yourself. -
Yeah Archived cars are a bit different unfortunately... My e30 mtech1 parts for the e30 are looking very expensive if not impossible to get. However Im finding from recent experience that all e36/e39/e46 trim parts are very reasonable pricing from the dealers. Also, the great thing about m parts in these eras is that the cars trim is the same as the mtech models. So no real change there. Something to do with the european pending ression

Can stick a block of wood under the accelerator to limit throttle ?
-
Can I join in ?
-
nah theyre style 5s' not RSs'

Common sense says yes it would be a WOF issue. It disables the intended functionality of the handbrake system which comes under modification of one of the cars braking systems.

Very nice .. Just about to do the same with mine .. bypassing the factory s50 filter housing thermo to go external for my cooler system. After finding out that BMW only allows a little bit of the oil at any one time down the cooler line instead of it all down the cooler. I would rather let an external thermo make the decision instead of it being pressure based as is with BMW's design.

Haha that's awesome thanks for posting

The only time you notice any difference from a strut brace is if you stress the limits of your car and driving. The car being uprated springs / shocks The driving being taking the car to the limit Strut braces are only imployed to limit the top movement of the strut towers. It will make your car feel twitchier at the limits but give you a more linear feel all the way up to the limit than with out. Lots of people dont like them because they can remove the natural cusion effect your chassis has when attacking the corners and can make the car feel unstable on the road. I personally love mine on the e30, but the car sees the track a lot and thats where they shine on a car without a cage.
