Your headlights 'should' already be Xenon as you have the projector housing. (see project globes in the outer light) The law is only around putting a xenon system into a car without the projector headlamp. Lots of people put them into reflector headlamps instead so there is no control of the light scatter or pattern. Hence why that method is illegal in the this country and rightly so. You will be able to legally put them in your car however. You need to buy a HID ballast and bulb kit. You are probably looking for 6000k bulbs. I have done 8000k before and its too dim (and blue). Im just not sure of the connector type that would come out of the back of your headlights is all. You might need to investigate your headlights some more on that one. Usually theyre either Depo or Hella types. Again, just replace the bulbs, you dont need a whole new headlight.

I use 16mm spacers on et38 BBS 17x8 RC with slicks on the front to clear my brakes with no issues. Im running e30 m3 front strut / 5x120 hub however on a non m3 body. But the offsets are pretty much the same as standard e30 setup. Works well, kisses the inner gaurd on full lock, but thats fine. My rear is quite different to standard e30 so I dont need spacers in the back. ET38-30 works really well there.

I would personally raise the rear to match instead of dropping the front, would be more practical and balance the look of it properly. Nice car though good stuff .. nice to see another 5 modded.

Cains old Calypso unfortunately was crashed beyond repair. The parts went to a good home however, Ross and BM workshops mint e34 540i.

Do yourself a favour and save a little more for the shock/spring package you want ... not the cheaper way out. Seriously youll thank yourself for it and it will transofrm your car. Have a look at doing the bushes as well while you're at it. Totally worth it.

You all laugh now ... but would you be laughing if someone bought it turned it into a race car and rammed a decent engine into it with all the trimmings. I really see potential. not 10k tho more like 5-6k which is what itll sell for.

Depending on the car .. Original BMW Xenon (Philips DS2) bulbs retail for around $320 each new.

That design is 5+ years old, I'm talking more the newer series (FXX). Just keeps getting bigger and bigger. A 3 series is around the same size and weight as a 5 series of the same old era. 960Kg vs 1200kg My point was the small touring car of old is a thing of the past and car manufactures marketing goals dont match their smaller cars EG 1 series vs 3 series. I dont think we will see a 1 series in a WTCC for example and im sure its the same for other manufactures. WRC has the right idea, cept it's hatch backs. However, the EU emmissions drive is pushing engine development to 4 pot turbos so there maybe hope yet!
