^^ Guessing that's what they'll do at shellys... unless someone can post the link to an online site that I can put it through. 364 (met) blue is tasty. If I hit lotto or something I'd consider repainting the whole car that color. Actually anyone repainted their whole car? Be interested to know what $$$ that would be. Assuming it would be fairly costly.

red seems to be a fav choice for their vehicles...

Appreciate the heads up. I was out trying to find the colour for mine from the previous owners painter/panel beater in lower hutt today. No joy. Sticker with colour code info has been lost prior to me buying... Only info the painter remembered about it was that it was a 'prik of a job' matching... Did find a really helpfull place out in lower hutt called union hardware (i think) automotive paint. Guy went through 3 or 4 bmw paint sampler books and we still couldn't get a match!! Will try shellys on mon. Will post some pics over w'end case someone here has/knows the colour... Cheers

yep, most of the dealings I've had with the law have been pretty pleasant. Mainly I think because I've had nothing to hide so am happy to answer any question (however stupid it's seemed to me at the time) they'd like to know. If your fully co-operating, have broken no laws, there's not a thing they can legally do. One key word in that last sentence.... Anyways, I'd rather they were there than not! Good thred.

mite just be me, but the gun license sounds a lil more dangerous than the tints!! 2c.

haha, cheers. W'shop I've been using is convenient to my home, and the guys are friendly enough but def keen to check out some other places. Think their hourly is around $75. Jono51 has offered to supervise/teach me a few diy jobs. First up is this viscous fan replacement...

hey zenneti, was talking with my brother in law over xmas and he was saying that the 15's or 16's (forget which size) were a rare wheel size and so getting tyres for them can be relatively expensive. Any truth in that? Also, what would be the most common wheel and tyre sizes? I'm guessing that if there's a fairly standard size then there may be more options = more competitive pricing etc? cheers btw, what were you selling the alpina reps at? Didn't see a price for the set...

Interesting. And we think we're clever, top of food chain etc!

cheers!! my g4 ibook is so outdated now that even viruses avoid it this old girl just keeps goin tho! With any luck it will become an iconic kitch (sp?) item. Didn't someone use the same/similar name for a virus recently, last couple of years?

^^ your both a little dodge...

would it be compatible with a SA 325iA e30? Apparently - these SA models have a larger radiator than other assemblies? Not sure if I need one right now (in a slow, fairly expensive process of elimination...) but 65 sounds reasonable. Any idea on freight/postage to welly? cheers Rio

UDATE... Ok, so last week get radiator done, this week water pump total for both -just shy of 800 bucks. I need some diy lessons!!! Or some other poss mechanics in welly area. Ohh and I bought a few bits n pieces from jono51, good dude. So... anyone know of some other service places in welly area or need a hand doing simple diy stuff to their cars so I can learn how to do mine!!? cheers Rio

There's one parked around the corner from our place, been there for weeks now since i spotted it and prob at least that before I saw it! has an abandoned(or such like) sticker that's faded due to weather stuck on windshield and 400 bucks of tickets (2x$200) under wiper blade, poss more now. M badged, tech kit including side skirts, fairly nice bm alloys (spoked ones from memory), lowered, and just sitting there rusting and collecting spider webs!!! It's an '86 535A, couldnt read spedo propa but is in miles from memory... Got a bit paranoid loitering around it! - 'case the wardens thought it was mine! haha. Was tempted to leave a note sayn i'd buy it off them as is where is for the tickets! Guessn owner mustn't want it anymore so could be just happy to see the back of it.... Will get some pics on w'end if it's still sitting there. Btw tastic, spotted your car around the corner form it the week you left... hope oz trip is goin well. on topic, that 535 advertised looks great.

+1. Not to hi-jack thread but I've had current car about 3 weeks now and last week I had the radiator flushed $290.00! With a recommendation that V fan be replaced, poss rodding of radiator... I discovered the following night after flushing that there was still a leak from somewhere. An hour or so later of surfing various forums etc it's looking like the water pump seals may be shot. Pick up car today, said pump had been leaking from bleed hole thingameejig and was replaced. $430.00 total for job!! Then spent another hundy this evening on some bits n pieces including a rear door which will need replacing (and painting) before summer ends... Upside was meeting jono51!! Gsus, luckily i love this dam car!!! Anyone in welly know of some other mechanics and a good panel beater... I'm tempted to use the propa bmr workshop if this is a standard cost! ....

hmm, maybe I got the term wrong? Was talking to mechanic on cell with poor reception. Def some process of cleaning/clearing radiator of any remaining gunk etc -apparently. Took car in quickly this avo and he had a check and thought it's prob something with the water pump, poss seals, as there was no sign of the leak coming from radiator area and hoses seemed fine as well. Will update Mon after it's gone back in. Will try ray for the fan, and poss water pump. Not really keen on second hand parts unless it's a temp measure to get it back to workshop! Thermostat was checked at initial visit and working correctly.
