I have a lc1 also. Has dropped out with error 8 a few times (sensor too hot or too cold - not a particularly useful fault code) Does come back with a switch off on. Also car is not fully tuned so could be that also. Known for ground offset issues but that comes down to your wiring. So far besides the error 8 which i putting down to my tuning im happy so far.

None unfortunatly. Even the web page for the car is limited for info. Suspect its a m42 built to s42 or very similar specs though.

No edible lime for me though a clay bar and a bit of work bought it all back to normal.

Appeared over the last few days? Small lumpy spots? I see your in the east tamaki/ Danemora area. Yesterday (27th april) approx 100 cars in our car park have been coated in lime deposits which appears to have come down in the rain yesterday leaving hard deposits over the entire car. We are based on springs road opposite Danemora. Some quite new cars in some cases have been affected with lots of very peeved owners. My E30 is covered and the wipers now grind and chatter over the wind screen. Washing dosnt remove it and chemical washes are $150-200 though white vinigar is suposed to work which i will be trying tonight. If this is what you have it would be interesting to know how wide spread this is and the origin.

On the dyno? with the bonnet up per chance? I suspect that the dyno results will show the air flow gain but cannot show the heat soak you would get with the bonnet down on the road. A shielded will always be better than unshielded.

Nice! What kind of H@R springs are they. Just lowering ones or somthing like the race ones? Also how does it handle? any issues with daily driving as it looks quire low? Seeing your lowered 318is has inspired me to finally lower mine.

Think i saw one in New market over the weekend ... Either that or it was a regular m3 painted like a carrot.

Yep almost to good to be true. Read the specs on it. Seems to be great for race cars as it has heeaaps of cranking amps but the draw back is it has relativly little amp hours. So for a race car it would be ok provided you dont have to run extra lights heaters other electrical thingys like a night rally car. Essentially you will be running on your alternator which in most cases is acceptable. Also when not charging the battery ie engine off, it will go flat very quickly. Also there are a few cautionary limits when charging and discharging the battery Still it would be great on the track

Loose a few kilos this way.. http://www.shop.antigravitybatteries.com/A...tery-AG9200.htm Race car only really but still 1.4 kilo battery = lots less weight

Dry ice freezes things. ON your sound deadening it frezes it solid so when hit with a hammer it shatters off instead of pealing of a goey mess

Welding overhead requires a special technique i think. Ive been told that this is a particular qualification a welder achieves. Out of curiosity do you need to certify any of this welding?

Havnt been able to confirm anything but if you look at what works in other situations like btcc cars. They use a twin pipe design with a x pipe linking the two pipes and support 300 odd hp Pipe size seems to influence sound so maybe a twin pipe design with resonators would eliminate the crackle or at least make it more managable. would weigh twice as much though. There are literaly 1000s of muffler designs and principals out there. It might be a case of listening out for what sounds good or others recomendations.

According to my design guides of which i have a few. To suppport 250rwhp (so 280ish + flywheel?) a single 3 inch exhaust is needed which is huge for a street car. Conversly 2 x 2 1/8 inch exhaust (up to 150hp each) would work too. Im not 100% sure if the 2 x 2 1/8 is equal to a single pipe is true but could dig a bit deeper if you like. As for eliminating crackle.. thats more of a muffler design thing and would require experimentation to achieve.

This will fit perfectly among BMW's other utility vehicles such as the err umm hang on... Looks like some one had a bit of fun and made a ute then put some swirly mark race stripes on it as a bit more fun to keep people guessing. Makes a cool way to cart your race bike stuff around at the track. I dont think the utility vehicle market is where BMW is at but if they ever did i could be tempted..

I used to build mine from fiberglass. You cant beat the fit and finish of a glass install with mdf cubes. Glass allows you to take advantage of any psace available ie jack pockets for volume in is often more ridgid. Its easy to do just takes longer and costs more. But you soon forget the extra time and money when you have a boot with lots of usable space and a unique install.

Vaugly remember somwhere you are meant to back flush the system ie push water through in the reverse direction the the water normally flows...
