Oh boy sounds like my ticket to vent over our work connection... Short story is, we are an IT company. they didnt understand that internet was critical to our business as not only do we need it for all that, we use products like Xero and Tradevine so all our accounts are online. They couldnt get us started because we were "still at our old address". anyways, 20 days later we were finally moved over, and the internet is the slowest piece of sh*t i have ever had. I do a lot of my accounts at home on this computer now (Telecom here)

Got a good runner Facelift 1.3 Motronic M20B20 here, anyone interested in it? been sitting a wee while, so you will need to replace belts etc but you'd be doing that anyways right??? I know my shits not gold, would be happy at $400, but throw an offer my way. Totally complete from ECU to MAF to Power Steering pump etc. currently still in car which can be started an driven if you want a video etc. Can also organise shipping through my day job if required to all main centers north and south island etc. Andy

dont forget the loss of value when you sell an unfinished project noone is as passionate about as you

Well a lot do use struts actually, but i assume you mean 3 series only. But in any case, thats exactly his point. the weight isnt supported there, so if the car has proper suspension in there, there is no reason for them to break. By proper, i dont mean im anti lowered suspension. Lowering a car isnt just about the springs, you need to match the shocks, and stock shocks on lowered springs will bottom out and break this part.

Howard, I think you should be buying a 4x4 as they are the only thing that look cool that are high enough to get up your driveway

can still buy new from BMW, have got some for an E34 at one stage, was pretty reasonable and they wont charge you shipping so works out cheaper than if you buy overseas etc which seems cheaper on face value but then they sting you with shipping.

specific to facelift/prefacelift aparently, not that i have had a prefacelift to know. post a picture if you like, i know what a facelift looks like in my head. Surprised to hear they are okay side to side though, they are a mirror image on the facelift ones.

I generally get an influx of messages after 3-5 months of the one before it, and decide to do an order. The trouble is, members that dont come here often miss out, not much i can do about that, because if i make it a two or three week opening time to widen the net, people dont pay up etc and actually takes more time to organise etc. Cheers Greg, very rare for me, looking through the employment logs (i do those here even my own lol) have worked at this company for 3.5 years and was my first sick day. Might have to start pulling more sickies lol

Also recently becoming a diesel owner recently ill jump in. Firstly, if i flick a switch the previous owner installed very stealthy, it is cheaper for my to drive this enormous unaerodynamic 4.2L Patrol around than it is to drive my 316i. Thats bullshit, though i will be using that when i leave the road. im not going to cheat a system. One solution to think about: Assuming a black market for fuel doesnt open up (massive fines would solve that) Drivers of Farm vehicles or other such diesel powered equipment could have some sort of fuel card they are eligable for that discounted all their fuel. of course, to make the system viable, there would have to be a minimum fuel spend of say $10k per annum or something to be eligable, which would also be able to be tracked on said fuel card etc. The system would "penalise" users of deisel backup generators, heaters etc, but they are still a lot cheaper than other solutions, and petrol users are already penalised like my lawn mower or neighbours boat etc. Maybe big consumers like private boats could fill at marina fuel stations and they would have no tax thier, would have to be some sort of audit there?? Just ideas

depends if you want a flat section and a garage included in your rent budget, if you do, you will be looking at the Hutt Valley, any of the southern suburbs is fine, doesnt get mucky till about naenae, but thats getting too far from the city anyways. Alicetown/Petone area is really good if you can find something, 4 train stations to choose from on the two lines, 10 minutes to town off peak. I have lived in various suburbs of Hutt Valley all my life. Otherwise, could get a one bedroom apartment in the city for your budget, so Te Aro, Thorndon. Next band out like Mt Cook Mt Vic Brooklyn, all still walking/cycling distance if you are reasonably fit already. Nothing wrong with Newtown, lots of Hippy type people out that way lol. Avoid Kelburn, the Uni is there so a lot of the houses are student flats and you wont be sleeping at night even during the week. Try and avoid Porirua its like its own city over there. but Johsonville, Tawa etc is fine, no idea what prices are like there i have never lived out that way. These are about 10-15 minutes to city off peak, but traffic isnt as bad as Auckland. Hope this all helps
