  1. Thought the first of each model gets stored away in Munich?
  2. Had this sitting around for years. Seat is a little torn from memory (can't check right now as it is buried under other stuff). Backrest is ok. Pattern as below. Pick up Auckland East. Suits sedan. Free or giveth ye a six pack if you feel the Yule.
  3. Silver 3.0 CSI at top of Botany Road just now
  4. Swann are a good bunch. They usually ask for a few pictures along with a basic valuation (like from a mechanic). Give them a buzz.
  5. Thanks - learnt something new today. Stuck in the 80's.
  6. My 2c... Remember that the oil light / sensor actually measures oil pressure, hence if it lights up it should be checked and rectified immediately to avoid larger issues.
  7. There was a red Alfa in racing liverage sitting in the grass just after the bridge on Pakuranga Highway. Yellow plate. Front air ducting missing. What's up with that?
  8. I am trying to properly dispose a couple of old BBQ LPG bottles. Where to take them? (I have acquired them along with a friendly donation of an old BBQ but want to get rid of them now - manufactured 1987) I have also been hoarding our used dry cell batteries (9V, AAA, AA, etc) with the intention of taking them to the haz mobile. Just learnt that this is no longer operating (and I can appreciate why). Further research (council website) recommends to just put it into general waste ending up in landfill. Apparently modern manufacturing processes greatly reduce the toxic properties of batteries. Still, coming from Europe originally, I find it hard to digest just dumping them into the bin. Does no one recycle them at all in NZ?
  9. Wow - the e60's really come down in price now. E39's would almost be similar in price, no?
  10. Perhaps Auto Plastic & Fibreglass Repairs?
  11. Bumping this one - any current recommendations for plastic welders in Auckland south of the bridge? Got a hairline crack in my washer tank. Cheers, J!
  12. C'mon - seriously? Defenders would hence be banned from sale in Australia?! That's just not right...
  13. Thanks! No exam, just for my own interest believe it or not
  14. Thanks all - so, leaving the vehicle aspect aside for a moment, you would agree that the flaspoint for a flammable liquid is reduced as one ascends? Or is this effect negated by the fact that less oxygen is available? Sorry, just trying to get my head around it. I know it is not the most animated topic. Maybe I should join my local chemistry club?!
  15. I understand that as the elevation increases, the atmospheric pressure, and therefore vapour pressure, decreases, which means the boiling point (e.g for water) is lower on top of a mountain. Considering this now for the flashpoint of a flammable liquid, is it right to assume that this would be lowered as well at altitude (or am I missing something somewhere)? Now trying to make this concept relevant to this forum – if above holds true, it would mean that if I take 98 Octane, sold in Dunedin for example, to the Crown Saddle (about 1000m) it would behave more like 99-100 Octane? Trade off being that due to reduced atmospheric pressure, less mixture would enter the cyclinders...
  16. 286 M3 again this morning on Pakuranga Rd and a nice marron beetle EC7503 with roof rack and nice wheels.
  17. Red e30 coupe on gold basket weaves/BBS. EJB something, opposite Pakuranga Golf club this morning.
  18. +1 on that. Besides heat, also consider smoothness of airflow - air boxes help do just that.
  19. Saw a very tidy yellow Lancia HF Delta Quattro Integrale this arvo in Botany.
  20. At the red shed this weekend: $39 for a two piece metal tool cabinet. Regular price $199. Save barn still sell it for $119. I bought two and joined them up in the middle.
  21. You did get 'experience' wrong. Give you half a point though regardless. Blame it on the bourbon.
