  1. Hi all - 42043 set is out since yesterday. Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245. 25% off this weekend at Toyworld. RRP $399
  2. The guy kept it for his son who is no longer interested in the car. A real shame. Needs new tires (very old). Engine seems ok. Hoses been apparently done. Have seen additional pics which looked tidy. Paint job could have even done better imho - only judging from what I have seen in engine bay and boot.
  3. 9Jx17 et26 is ok on the rear as long as you roll the guards. Front 8Jx17 et20 will JUST fit. This is my experience with style 32s 17s are too big imho. 16s are just right.
  4. The coolest rat I have ever seen
  5. Interested in Hirschmann antenna if it has got one. Also, rear parcel shelf speakers if of the premium sort.
  6. I have a 525ee e28. M20 engine. Reasonably efficient for its age - 10l/100km in city. Mine is NZ new. Good to work on. Admittedly I worry about rust and only take it out in fair weather. You'll need to find a nice example that's been looked after.
  7. With warrant, rego etc it would surly fetch upwards of 15K in my opinion.
  8. Can't stop thinking about Richard Pryor/ Daddy Rich and the Pointer Sisters arriving at the Car Wash. I wish one could have sound layovers on trademe listings...
  9. I spotted the car last Saturday. It turned into the grounds of a local church, probably collecting the tithe. Made the mistake to directly look at it. My eyes are still sore and I now frequently wake up at nights in a panic... Will need to see a shrink - that'll set me back $$$.
  10. To go with the earlier post - I would be interested in a well presented 524td, e28, opalgreen or bronzit. Unobtanium here, I keep dreaming...
  11. This should be put back in order and not parted.
  12. I wanted to have a go with clay bars but never used them before. Is it similar to very fine wet sanding (like 2000+ grit)?
  13. Do you know who has done the conversion? Graeme at GAC?
  14. From my experience it is usually a faulty pump. Easy fix. Pull the tank out while you are at it and check for any cracks / deterioration around bottom. Secondly, check the relay in the fuse box.
  15. Ernst (Bavarian Motors) would also know. He's been with the club since forever. I joined the club in 2001 and received sticker in same style as your badge.
  16. Check the terms and conditions: bmw.co.nz/t_and_cs
  17. ^ you would have had to make your way to the 'Newmarket dealership' though. A distance you would have easily covered by 7.30am - the time the offer officially started.
  18. Thanks - I am no good with pasting these links. Basically, BMW NZ gave away a car to the first person that showed up with the newspaper coupon and their car which had to be traded in.
  19. Darn it - missed out on it. The family wagon needs a spruce up... Read about it in the Herald. One lucky girl. Bmw.co.nz/t_and_cs
  20. Sway bars are definitely factory standard. Good on you for saving the car from becoming re-bar.
  21. The Walnut Cafe in Orewa is putting on the Orewafest (family friendly Oktoberfest style event). Sat 28 & Sun 29 March Walnut Cottage 11am to 9pm both days 498 Hibiscus Coast Highway Bavarian food (sweet and savoury) and drinks (beer, wine, coffee) Google OREWAFEST for more info. The BMW CC is having a cruise there on Sunday lunch. Probably good opportunity for car spotting. Can't make the cruise but might go up Sunday arvo. (I am not affiliated with the event, except to say that I am Bavarian)
