  1. The biggest problem to the US car manufactures in terms on on going costs have been the unions and there causes like full medical cover for employees that have retired from work, etc... i think that along was costing Ford $500,000 a yr or something silly like that... By declearing bankruptcy they will be clear of all of that union inforced crap... and can start with anew with much lower employee related operating expenses
  2. problem 1 = service pack for specilist software did something to the secure clients (VPN software) network protocols, only effect the laptops with it when then tried vpn. could connect to the physical network (when in the office 100%) problem 2 = same as above but it was the vodofone software that was causing the problem

  4. i want this update NOW! hurry up apple release the damm thing.... mrad01: I'll send you a link to the app that could be used as a base, and a screenshot mockup later...
  5. damm that sucks man... Sunstrike sucks... a few my friends have killed their cars because of that...
  6. list works also - fewer letters to typre
  7. ISP helpdesk staff can all rot in hell... soo stupid.... i spent 25 minutes explaining what the problem was to the pleb and he still logged it wrong... grrr... My favorite one is, PLeb: please turn the modem on and off again... Me: I've done that already... PLeb I need you to do it again... Sometimes it takes a few attempts and it sometimes needs to be unplugged for upto 5 minutes... Me: No you don't, you just waiting for the capacitors to drain to make sure the modem losses all temp memory and is completely depowered, should take less than 1 second depending on the capactors in the unit. Pleb: No you wrong, when the unit it unplugged it's resetting the settings and it takes time... Me: how does that work when the unit has no power... Pleb: they are designed that way... And don't get me started on telecom... had a 6 month battle with them cover internet line qualiy at my old work... go to the point telstraclear installed a line of site wireless internet setup (4grand's worth) and 4 months free internet at 50gb cap 8mb up and 8mb down
  8. haha i wished that fixed most of the problems that we encounter... That would be soo easy then... heres two fun problems for ya.... secure client a VPN software package wouldn't work for some users from a particular section... why didn't it connect properly... there is something about a network port error when starting the pc... secure client wouldn't connect when using a vodaphone vodem... why didn't this print correctly? I"m getting errors with the companys custom document management system... ip phone systems sirprisingly we get very few is it turned on, is it plugged in, please restart type problems. don't you love trying to troubleshoot applications that you have no idea as to how they work, or what they do...
  9. i'd build an underground carpark for the expensive toys with a hydrolic ramp to get it to... alaha thunderbirds style...
  10. Hello boys and girls... I've asked the person in charge of hiring for the role, and they have finally answered and they are looking for "some IT experience... preferabley 1 - 2 years" A job ad i being created that i'll post up here also. Sorry about drip feeding info, it's how i'm getting it... Those lacking the experance, i'd say once i post up the link to the job, go for it if you want, but you will need to really sell yourself. This is not for a ISP helpdesk\call center sort of role. You will be required to resolve issues and problems, currently it's only about 10% of calls make it to second level. Â I'd say it's more of a level 1.5 helpdesk as you get a combination of some basic second level work and all of the level 1 / call center style work. You will be doing things like remote access, basic active directory work, basic mailmarshel work, some registry work, environmental variable tweeks, troubleshooting programs you will have never used (we have over 1200 appilications in the company). Â

I can't remember where i read it, it was some ww2 sub book or it might have been on the history channel... old engine mech's in the subs would put whiskey or vodka into the diesel to increase the kaboom factor...Â
  12. You could even get a slightly rough 206 gti for that much... There is a wine red 306 xsi at the turners car autions in TGA going for 1500 - 2200 at the moment. Needs handbrake adjustment and new rear pads for a WOF supposably...Â

  14. Ya i wasn't sure when 3.0 would be released i was aware it would fix a few of the problems. But i still think its piss poor of Apple to not have it in the original 2.0 release. I hate having to carry in multiple things i've got a 16gb iphone i should be able to use the space for what i want to... Software like touchcopy is absolutely fantastic but you need to have it on what ever machine you want to access the iphone's storage capabilties on. The company that makes the software makes a range of other apps that are also very good. Typically i'm transfering sometimes 500mb files around the place (whoo cad updates) and it's much simpler to just use my phone (like i did with my last 2) or my old mp3 player (30gb creative zen)... Unfortantly i'm a pc based user and it's not the easiest to make the ringtones with itunes... you can do it but dammit i want to be able to just choose a track from the ones i have on the phone and use that like i could with my past 3 phones.  Iphone = 2 generations behind most 3g phones in a lot of aspects. I think i'm on the 250 plan or something like that... Mrad01 - feel like making an app for free for me to use for lacrosse? It's just a simple timekeeper / scorer...Â
  15. I use it got checking my emails, surfing web in traffic both daily. Use it as a pgs device couple times a month and i'm well under my limit... You should see a spinning circle to the right of the 3G/O/upwards bars when it's accessing the internet... Yup you got it with the twitter thing.. you will only have access to twitter when the app is open. I think it's a sh*t phone but a good PDA... ohh with bluetooth and wireless on the battery life  = crap...Â
  16. yup... the gps system is free, BUT the phone doesn't store the FRICKEN maps, so everytime you want to get a road map you need to connect to the vodafone network and download it (it does it automatically) but should you not be on a data plan this = $$ meaning - locating you where you are = free.... Â showing you where you are on a map = $$$ GSM is an old style network - no video calling (not that the iphone can do it), it's basically the really old slow network... You can get the skype app for the phone should you use it - but non of the apps will run in the background so you need to leave the phone on that app i.e. skype if you want to use it as a skype phone P.S. i own one...
  17. Yup wi-fi = no network data charges for appz that access the internet... To tell if your on 3g, gsm, wi-fi up by where you have your signal bars are you will see a O or a 3G or anouther signal strength bars pointing upwards. When you see the: O = GSM network 3G = 3G network UPwards Signal bars = Wi-Fi If you forget to to logon into your wi-fi you will be on the vodafone network. YOu can setup your phone to automatically logon to your wi-fi... Be-aware the iphone can not do the following: - receive or send pxt or mms messages - forward text messages - custom ringtones (you can make them but it's a pain) - no video recording - be used as a usb harddrive/pen drive (can get programs to allow you to do this)
  18. Sorry dude fulltime job only...Â
  19. It looks impressive but i would say 90% of rally drivers would be able to do exactly the same thing, espically given the seat time he's probably had and you can see the number of attempts he's done to get some of the shots... It's not a single run as it looks... *waiting for the flaming*
  20. message mlm he's looking for an e30 for his gf
  21. We have had one our guys leave and now we are looking for a new person to replace them. It's an entry level role, so don't expect tons of $$$ but it's a very large company and it will give you lots of exposure to a multinational IT environment. If your interested PM me and if you could include your cv... Please be aware that this is currently not a publicly available job and they are looking for staff recommendations at the moment, so it's my name on the line... so serious workers only... Me
