  1. I have a fair idea that the only things that can be used from a E34 535i is the M30 motor and gear box, for an E30 335i conversion? Are there any other parts I can use, Diff LSD Medium case? Rear sub frame? Front Struts? 5 lug conversion is a no go with these parts as well I gather. Any use for any parts off the e34 on E30? Cheers.
  2. I thought the offset was from the center regardless of width size. So I would have thought if you go from a 8 inch to a 9 inch you would end up with a half inch extra on each side of the offset???
  3. I have E31 840 wheels on my E34. They are 16x7.5 ET13. I have no problem with rubbing etc. Even at full lock. The wheels I run are 245/45R16 They are quite a bit shorter than the stock wheels it came with. I'm doing just under 2500rpm at 100kph, manual trans. So that should give you a base to work off with your 17's of the same ET.
  4. I thought they had them advetised a bit cheaper than this... any way here is the link just in case. FlashCards V1
  5. I use ABN Amro- Craigs as well. I found the amount of work you get out of your broker is directly related to the amount of money you put through them. Especially when strating out. As you would expect! So if you can get introduced to a broker by someone who does put a lot of money through you will find, you probably get a lot more out of them, even though your not putting through the big dollars yet. Any trader can buy and sell for you, so if that is all you want go for the lowest commision. If it is good advise your after, ignore the commision.
  6. That v12 has been for sale for some time. He might be negotiable.

    Big Day Out

Excellent Day/Night, but the sounds early on, on the Main stage were below average! Is it always that bad? Boiler Room was my pick!

I just spotted you driving down Annex Rd. Those wheels look great! In fact your whole car looks great! I ended up not making the mega meet. Would have been good to meet you guys. Rich.
  9. Looks Great Brent! Shadow Chrome?
  10. Really I don't find that at all? My gear Box whilst not being super slick is very nice to use, it has a smooth positive action. Clutch is not japanese light, but it is far from heavy. I would be sick of the traffic before I got sick of driving the car. Even around town I find the 535is fine to drive. M5 i can't see as being to much of a problem day to day more like a problem when it come to opening up the wallet!

    M3 Porn - Again

Now that is something to covet.
  14. "Hmmm will keep the ribs polished (not silver) and we will paint the viens (coring) black. The problem with painting the cooler black is you start to get too much black on the car, and you start to screw the lines and over all look of the car. Alot of people make basic design / form following function mistakes when designing their cars. Colours and how much colour to display is all key to the 'look' of a vehicle. something I took into careful consideration when designing up the e46 sedan to m3 kit conversion" Hybrid I appreciate your attention to detail. I must confess I thought it was just going to be an all polished intercooler. Upon a closer look with the cores black it looks great. Nice subtle effect. Not too sure that you can ever have too much black on a car...subjective anyway and it is your car and your look!!!! I can't wait to see the progress.
  15. Looks great. only thing I would change is the intercooler, paint it black. (less rice, more alpina)
  16. Sorry a bit OT, but what is the general opinion on how many k's the m60 - m62 engines will do? It always surprises me how little E34's sell for in general. Good luck with the sale.

One of the biggest deficiencies with texting and email, I find is that the tone and/or the meaning can so easily be misinterpreted. Sarcasm is completely lost. Lowest form of wit maybe, but the text generation is missing out on it's burn! No wonder people are so precious these days!

    My New Daily

I've got a copy of Guy Crofts Fiat/Lancia Twin Cam tuning book if you want a copy. Very good. You can get some good HP out of those engines.
  19. Dream cars? It is hard to choose one, but here is one that I have liked ever since i first saw one. FACEL VEGA Pity about the american donk but it had good hp for the day, the stying is wicked. I've seen one in the flesh here in CHCH and it looked far better than the photo's. HK500 360bhp 135mph build 1958-1962. Good enough for Sterling Moss to have one!
  20. My system doesn't seem to work all that well either. It has a mind of its own. From the owners manual it is supposed to provide the occupants of the car with warm feet and cool air around the head so the driver doesn't get fatigued. From what I can gather and seems to work on mine. The Driver side control if it's full cold or full hot it will over ride everything and give you full hot or full cold every where, depending on what you select. Driver side supposedly regulates the drivers side, passenger the passenger side. When mine is just set to a temp I get hot and cold coming out from all over the place. The back vents as I understand have their own heater matrix. This could well have been disabled by someone if it had been leaking, hence why you only get cold. Another problem with mine is when everything is giving me cold I still get hot out the drivers side window vent.. It is bloody annoying in summer. Another thing I have noticed is if I have the air con switched on the whole thing seems to work much better hot or cold. Good Luck.
  21. Average 13.8l/100kms around town. Gets down to 10-11l/100kms open road. My drive to work is only 10km each way but in CHCH with more traffics lights per capita than any where else in the world (my own fact you might want to dispute) I have to stop and start around 12 times. Pulling away from the lights and accelerating really chews the gas up. I've been told though I have a heavyish foot. I can easily drop down into the 17l/100kms if the traffic is even less kind. I went to Akaora for the weekend just been. I don't know what the fuel consumption was and I don't care! It was a fantastic drive. The hill is so much fun! The 1990 535is loves the open road!
  22. You bought it off trade me for $80. I'll give you $80 for it.

    Jungle Part 4

How did you have your wheels done? What colour? I've been thinking black wheels on a silver car would look hot!
