  1. 725ks on a Renault..........!!!??? Musta spent a looooooooooooooot of time being towed by a Toyota............!!!!!!!!!! Poor Renault shoulda been put in a glass case, or shipped back to where it came from with THAT mileage, specially if it still moved under its own power......
  2. Awww mate - "No, no, no, no - seriously??!!!". Hmm, you built this........I'm thinking you might need to read your ad again (Its one of a kind........), maybe have another sit / drive in it.......theres lots of things in life money can't buy, & what you've put into this counts on that scale. Maybe I'm a bit older than you, who knows, but some of the things I've learnt in life is that the sun always rises, women can tend to come & go, theres always a light at end of the tunnel, the cup is always half full (or better), & stuff like this, whether it have 4 wheels or 2 - its quite special........ I've been down your road - theres high odds you'll regret selling it........my advice would be 'keep it, & use it as your wedding car'.......... and how special would it be to maybe bring your wife & a son home from hospital in it one day in the future.......
  3. Yea, I dunno - I tend to be fairly 'old school' in how I see things, & much as you rave about it's performance - how long are you confident it'll do that for?? Long term, I believe theres no substitute for 'cubic inches', & regulary I see it with highly stressed smaller cc diesel motors. Work them hard, & its like 'sending a boy to do a man's job' - after plonking down close to 100k, what do ya reckon it'd be like with 150,000kms on it........5 years old etc.......

    Benz E63 AMG

Nice car there, bigtime!! I see ya managed to keep the plate with it - well done!!
  5. Phil-540i

    yummy

That's gorgeous!!! I'd happily have THAT parked in my garage............
  6. Lols at this Michael - its screwing with my head a bit too, but I'm sure it's all gooooooooooood. Nice work on the changes James, & looks really neat........
  7. I'm picking one of them is on 'upside down', as such...............
  8. Lols - I've seen you've been looking for a set of standard rims. I dunno - thoughts were just to keep them, so it can go back to 'original' if I sell it to get a M5 in the future.....feel free to PM me on it though ae..reality is they're probably just more $hit sitting around to trip over while taking up space
  9. Hmm - for virtually the same price, I'd sooner have this............. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-635838729.htm I don't see myself as ever gonna spend close on 100k just for a car though.......even if I won Lotto I'd struggle with the concept a bit.........
  10. I'd agree re the cleaning bit......theres been a bit of 'muttering' while doing it.......!!!Funny, as theres a E39 running around locally I've seen a few times lately, with the same rims fitted - they look like they've never been cleaned since day 1, poor thing. I toyed between these & AC Schnitzer rims for a fair while. Theres LOTS I like, but probably a bit OTT having half a dozen sets sitting in the shed, so these will be fine.........
  11. Well, been doing a few things to the little blue beast - midway through doing, & redoing, & damn, that's still NOT right so redoing window tints (In fairness, I've never done it before myself - usually just pay someone else to do my utes, & now I know why I take that option - grrrrrrrr!!). Thanks to member Brent HARTGE535i, theres that set of BBS 740 alloys in the process of being cleaned up a bit & going under the girl....... On same note - I'm very grateful to Bmrmad (aka Hans / Dutchy) for sorting transport on rims & tyres for me - "thanks heaps"!!!! Rims - I was going to get centres powder-coated black, but I've changed my mind - I'm polishing lips myself, after removing the clear-coat they've got on them, as well as taking out as many of the curb marks I can @ same time.... Local Hella rep found me some yellow H1 bulbs for the high beams, which when fitted didn't really inspire me much really. Brought some super white 100W ones off tarde me, which still might see me going back to what I took out originally...... I love it when ya go round & round in circles for nothing, haha......next step will be 'fixing' the exhaust I think...... Re polishing up the rims - 3 goes with paint stripper & waterblaster seems to nail the clear-coat, then 320,600 & then 1000 wet & dry, followed up by copious amounts of Mother's alloy polish seems to do the trick I reckon......removes worse of marks anyway at miminal cost. So yea, been spending a bit of time out in the shed lately..... Away next week to get exhaust 'fixed' - decat , muffler delete, etc.......
  12. That's bad, like really really bad. Just cos ya can do something like this, does'nt necessarily mean ya should follow it through by actually doing it......each to their own & all I suppose though.
  13. If you use lots & lots of lube, I'm sure that you'll get them to fit............ Lots easier than putting 19" tyres on 17" rims, as that takes lots of gorilla snot to take up the clearance that way......
  14. I think you'll find it won't make tooooo much of a difference in terms of 'real world driving', & hey - your speedo might even become accurate........
  15. 20 inch chromies, & a new purple paint job..........................beeeeeeeeeeeeautifull, just beeeeeeeeeeeeeautifull ae......... I'm picking they missed the school day where they had the wee talk about the effects of drugs........ Cracking up at this clown with his VR4 that wants to swap........ http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-638811572.htm 'Gears crunch sometimes but gearbox is fine....." I swear trademe just keeps getting worse......
  16. What does she drive at the moment...........??? Personally, I think if its something dull, boring, safe but also reliable you're looking for - Toyota Camry.......
  17. I tend to always reverse up driveways etc anyway, so as to be always leaving in a 'forwards' direction......
  18. Perfect for those that don't know how to reverse properly............
  19. I'm cracking up - a good mate of mine told me about that one down there ages ago, as he knows who owns it. Now I've seen the pics, I know what he was getting at in his description........
  20. South Island sense of humour, taken to the extreme & a bit over the top.............
  21. Dunno if 'missing out' are the right words for THAT ae..........
  22. awesome - I'm glad for ya, bigtime........good it hasn't become major on it after you've only just got it!!! That E39 has merit for sitting in the backyard though - be interesting to see what it goes for......
