    Car Fails...

One of the funniest things I seen years ago, was coming over the lindis Pass in winter, in a Hilux 4WD while it was snowing. Late model Corolla parked at side of road ahead, guy was just getting up from fitting chains, so pulled up to check all was ok.......... Pulled up, had a bit of a look, "Ya all good there?"........"yea yea, all good, just about to give it a go again....."...."Ah rodgey that, might find it works a bit better if the chains go on front whels though....."...
  4. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm - nice!!! Good on ya!! How often would ya be lucky enough to find a 1 owner one thesedays.........its a gem ae
  5. How many times ya said "Ya b1tch" now then............ Hard to tell what the deposits there are from the pic, but if it was me, I'd be replacing the hose, do anything else that's visually 'obvious', fill it up with coolant, make sure its all bled of air properly, get it up at operating temp just ticking over, & see what it's like..........maybe do a pressure test on the system if you've got few doubts........ Looks to me like theres a fairly new looking hose-clip within those pics, which indicates some-one has 'been there' for whatever reason, not that long ago........ Those deposits could be there just from part of the process of it getting hot yesterday.......
  6. "Character - just remember its got character, & its all character building stuff that's way better than piloting a white Corolla or something similar....." Keep ya chin up - hope ya got home all right after AA turned up..........
  7. Oh yummy....................nice!!!
  8. Rumour has it that Touring's with V12 motors are even rarer..............
  9. Ba$tards........ Bit like with Chch ae mate - EQC & insurers are happy to take the money via premiums, yet 3 years later we've still got people living in garages etc............. The worth of any insurance / cover / premium is never validated until it becomes time to make a claim......
  10. Yea, ok, the new diesels are great, when all is good in the world........but feed it some dirty diesel, or have 'Mum' (or Darren's S.I.L.) give it petrol instead of diesel, and suddenly its not so 'cheap' anymore...that's without RUC's & the extra cost of diesel rego....... In the case of one of my new diesel vehicles (a 07 ute..), I'd had such a gutsful of poor running & 'computer reflashes' that didn't work, that the last time it came out of dealer's workshop @ 11 months old, it went straight onto trademe in a fit of 'You are the weakest link - GOOD-BYE.......' V12 it like Andy, & you're probably already ahead on running costs & power........
  11. Umm, I think you've already answered your own question probably, somewhere in there.........
  12. Sweet looking car there Connor............bigtime!! Looks mint!

Trifecta Andy - you know you want it............... Its rather sweet........
  14. Really interesting read in here I'm thinking. Touch wood, I've never had an issue on getting genuine replacement glass...... Antill - you've had a $hit go from your company I reckon...................!!!!!! Given the way new screens are now bonded in, rather than with a rubber seal...........here's some words you could maybe try when they are trying to give you a Tai(Chi)nese one......."Is that compatible with my airbags?? Is that made to same std as OEM screen......?? Prove it..........." Remembering its got to be a 'safe' repair.........
  15. Bummer!! I get the feeling you're going to get to know this car really REALLY well ae - all good though. Think of it as having 'character'....It'll be alright - Rome wasn't built in a day, so just keep grinning & nudging away at it......
  16. Rodgey that - I vaguely remember reading somewhere (might've even been in here somewhere.....??) that the ECU can be reflashed with a South Africa spec program too, as they have no cats on e39's over there..... Mines e34, so no post cat sensors.....
  17. They're just oxygen-thief's, bigtime!!! Once again we have Mr / Mrs Joe Average public being nailed by scumbags that don't play by the same rules that the majority of the rest of us abide by. Then on TV last night we've got the PC brigade using words like 'allegedly' in relation to it all. Now some do-gooder lawyer on legal aid will tie it all up forever & a day, blaming split family, miss-spent youth, cat died when 5 yrs old, whatever............. Personally, I'd love to see our boys in blue being way more assertive / aggressive towards how fleeing cars / suspects are stopped / dealt with. Same with there's been cases of vehicles having 'been stopped', & then the vehicle pulls away again - with a bit more assertion there's absolutely no reason as to why a stopped vehicle can't be 'blocked' from moving............ Yea, its maybe a rant - what did the guy in Falcon ute do though to deserve where he is at the mo....just wrong place @ the wrong time......
  18. Nice project you've got going here - re hole in cat, why not just 'delete the cats', which is what I'm going to do.......??? Unless it was first registered in NZ after Nov 2008, I'm lead to believe there's no real need for them to be there....... Cheers.
  19. Hi there I think they're a great car really, & fairly good value for money overall - I tend to be a bit biased though....... Heres a link you might find useful on what might be reasonably expected once $$ have changed hands.... http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=45749&hl= Cheers.
  20. If memory serves me right, write off auctioneer nicbak13 (??) on trade me sold that through their process a few months back...........
  21. Ouch - that's not gonna buff out in a hurry either!!! Poor thing - how do ya roll something that's got THAT low a c.o.g.......??!! Once again proof that money doesn't buy 'driving skills' in some cases.......
  22. Yea, that looks good............ I'm thinking me & this---------> http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-613489372.htm could have a GREAT time together....... Subtle, yet sweeeeeet.............
  23. Pfffff - imagine if that hearse of yours had an exhaust outlet for each cylinder - you'd need heavier springs in the back for a start........
  24. I'll second that - colour, rims, etc etc, all looks great, but bodykit is a bit OTT I'm thinking. Each to their own though.....
  25. Ditto!! That's really REALLY well done - made me grin watching it............ That chick in it though - highly likely she's no-ones mother...........
