  1. Normally I would try and search for it... But I have NFI how to explain it at all. http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3272 What an interesting thread...
  2. Righto then, I'll see if I can figure it out here with what I've got.. if not, the local euro mechanic is a good chap.
  3. that's true, but it rules out user fitting error... and it worked on the old engine.
  4. Will you paint it with the pretty flowers too?
  5. 70 bucks to fit two tyres :0 the place I goto charges like 20 for fitting+balance.... this was just 14" rims mind you maybe they charge more for the larger ones :/
  6. I think it's the right way around... as I think it controls the transmission too. (it's got many pins on it)
  7. Funnily enough the crap falcon does this too... But nope, I'm talking about my E30. Will have a check of the TPS, not a silly idea.
  8. Wow... there are some hawt compacts on there. Does the entire compact bit open? they sound kinda practical actually. Really is too bad BMW really only made them with 4pots. The truith is I've got some bleeding disorder, and when my hip plays up I can't drive a manual car... hence why I own an Auto E30... But If I bought an auto 318ti which is small and auto for a DD' I can still do up my E30 not to mention the M20B25 loves to drink all of the fuel ever.
  9. Hmm... So whenever I put my foot on the accelerator at a certan point (like 2/10th's) open it will struggle and nearly stall. but if you go just under it, and then start accelerating it's fine... I'm sh*t at explaining things... but does anyone have any ideas?
  10. Is it wrong if I sort of like how compacts look? I hope this project happens
  11. BMW's don't suit neons... Leave neons to the ricers.

    My Car.

After a long eventful engine swap, car is all sweet... done about 600km with no real issues.... Needs a new thermostat though... heater goes cold on the open road. However, this is all good and well... but I'm on holiday now... driving on a pretty empty peice of road, which I assumed was 100kph... (BAD IDEA) Radar Detector picks up a cop car... Then the cop car pulls me over... I'm thinking WTF. He then informs me it's a 70kph zone... and then hands me a ticket for 29kph over the speed limit :0 Whoops... However the car goes real good
  14. Young drivers genrally don't "choose" anything. they just get what they can afford/are given.
  15. 7k is a fair deal for a nice lookin' 328i mmmm supercharged M52
  16. Yep... She's full. Tranny feels a bit sharper with brand new fluid. the old fluid made me cringe...
  17. Hahha... Leave me to be poor. Should have an apprentiship year after next... then I'll be slightly less poor.... but still poor. Now to fix my stereo... I choped the wire when removing the loom.
  18. I wonder if Mainfreight will allow me to ship a few back?
  19. Mainfreight got my M20B25 down from wellington in 3 days their quoted time on the site was 5-7 days.
  20. My grandad owned a 518i in Scotland, very big comfy car apparently, but also cheap on tax.
  21. haha.. yeah, Been a massive learning experience for me. Biggest thing I have learned is. - Do it right once... I had to d*ck about fixing the gearbox that I broke by not knowing how to put the transmission on properly. the local euro mechanic was more than happy to explain how to fit the torque convertor! If in doubt, ask someone that knows better Either way... still mightily impressed with the power this beast has
  22. nvm, trivial as... tranny wires were hitting the flex disc. LOL FIXED.
  23. Hmm... now theres a funny groaning noise coming from the car around where the transmission selector is... diddn't do it initially when I started driving it... but has started getting noiser... Possibly over-filled the gearbox with fluid?
