Righto, she's all back in, start the car up and the trans light is still on, but this time it will drive - but in limp home mode... Any suggestions? also, how the hell do I read the dipstick? what's the trick?

also, I think any car that's imported (to here) has to comply with frontal impact standards. which no E30's comply with anyway. E30 M3's can be under SIV since they are an M3.

Picked up an oil pump today... and my shiny new intake boot has arrived However the p/n's on the pump are slightly different... I couldn't find one at the wrecker with exactly the same. only the last two digits are different... but the parts look identical and are the same size ect. the wrecker said to pull it apart and check to make sure the pump itself isn't shagged, and it's possible to swap the pump impellar?(sp) from my original pump. Since the only issue with my pump is the fact the engine is unable to turn it.

I still want to goto Russia.... I have some strange want to go there... not sure why.

My new engine is filthy, much worse than my old B20. it's covered in yellow stains, I beleve this is oil stains? is there any way to clean this off bar painting it? any chemicals ect? Thanks.

You can use the loom from the E34, but I personally wouldn't. I bought an M20B25 from an E34, and swapped my entire stock (facelift B20) loom onto it for ease of install. Shouldn't be too hard to source a used F/L loom.
