M20's are always noisy, ticktickticktickticktick... that means the valves are working... In my experience with M20s I guess that the rockers, cams and the valves themselves wear out. basically just adjust the valves and that's really it. Best way to fix it is to remove the boat anchor and install an M5x

Being a 1992 I assume it has a metal thermostat housing too anyway, so no need to get the "better" metal one.

Wrong, RUC Charges are not the registered owners responsibility... If you buy a car out of RUC you have to pay in full. There was also a Kiwi new Blue E39 540i Touring but it had been kiwi'd all it's life. (was like 6k too) Had crappy woodgrain, black leather. I think it was an "ASE" was dirty dirty and dirty stone chipped to buggery ect. but would have been awesome if someone gave it some love

I got sick of trying to find a fan shroud, and just converted the car to electric. as without the fan shroud the mechanical fan won't work 100%. and it's about the same price as a hub unit as to convert to electric.
