Ihave already got a Mega Drvie off Trademe for $45 (complete set no box, no games & very tidy etc). So that was a mint deal. There are alot of other sets on TM for cheap...just wish I had $. And yep, these will be worth alot in a few years but right now, some people dont seem to know (which I dont mind) cos some are just so cheap... but then again, most of them dont gaurantee they work

I do it myself. Have done oils, sump seals, fan belt, radiator - thus far (I can basically all simple jobs). But when its time to do cambelt I will get a pro too - but that costs $ which I dont have

Am thinking of buying them (prefer a full set - console, control & all cables) so my kids have one each when they are older. Won't be many kids (in 20years time) who have a games console 3x older than they are. I had one as a kid and be awesome to have one for my kids. I also just want to have another jam on one. I have purchased a Mega Drive (the newer design) set off Trademe (excellent condition, no games) for $45 so Im happy to pay in that bracket. My sister (with 3 kids and a husband) are at home with no power, water & communication. Mum can only be intouch thru text which my sister can only do when she goes into the car...we also understand she is affected by the liquifaction. Not looking for CHCH, town is munted and people still missing.

My sister, her husband and 3 kids live their they are all OK - bro-n-law took 2hrs to get home (Cashmere) when he knew what happened. Thank God they are OK. And my other sister and her son who live there, their house was destroyed (not sure what area) and they are flying to Hamilton tomorrow to stay with us. She has been struck twice now (lost 2 houses - this the 2nd) so she is out of there for good. Dont think she be going back permanent now. AND my sisters ex-husband was in the Telecom building, and only just got alive. It collapsed around him I think. Hes one lucky man. Ran home to text his daughter cos the fool left his cell at home! Long run...
