It has the "professional" factory unit in the glove box and is not a nav unit, just a beige spec one. I removed this one today to check the wiring and it has been a bit hori'd up but nothing major. I'm a bit skeptical of the cheaper ones seeing as they're all much like the one in the car and there's not really any reviews. I'm too cheap to spring for a Dynavin though. It's a hard life I tell ya. Once I sell a few toys I'll give it a stereo birthday

I should mention it has to look as factory as possible, I can't the look of stand aftermarket goodies like that Have considered the Dynavin units but they are a bit on the pricey side

Clutch, flywheel and turbo just done. The boss' one is around 460km on it I think.

My boss has one in the same colour as yours, but not sportpac, with three pedals. Done huge km and has been a great beast (tows a three axle trailer up and down both islands. Far better than an auto one. Very economical too, averaged 7.3/100 on the way home

Hi guys, I just picked up a f/l e53 and it has anothing aftermarket unit in the dash, I do not know the brand. It doesn't fit the dash very well and is a wee bit cumbersome to use (that may be me) Who has any experience with the fairly well priced units from overseas? Would be awesome keeping nav and Bluetooth. I see there are a heap of units available but really want to hear from owners in nz What have you done to yours, how is it to use and what's the fitment like?

So some of you probably saw this rather rare manual X5 pop up on TM for approximately 20 seconds this week. I saw it and well... had to buy it straight away. Flew up to Auckland Saturday morning and drove it back to Hastings the very long way. It's fairly tidy. Is a sport package model too with decent history. It does have an aftermarket head unit which I shall be asking members on options to improve that What a stunning machine with the manual!

I have many things but no 4wds or wagons and some are relatively economical

What kind of other vehicles are you interested in as trades?

E39 ABS unit testing in nz
dirtydoogle replied to dirtydoogle's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
I'm using the ADS interface cable with INPA, the standard k-dcan cable I have won't communicate with the car at all The ADS interface communicates with everything else so far and does pull the ABS/ASC up Will be a bugger if it's a faulty new unit! But also not unheard of -
E39 ABS unit testing in nz
dirtydoogle replied to dirtydoogle's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Have tried activating but nobody home, I'll give it a few more goes and bleed the system incase there is poo in a valve New unit, not s/h I do not know what codes the old unit had sadly, but I do think it may have just been a non-communicating one Before I was given this beast it had been to the local dealership for coding, but they could not find the fault with it, so I am told. I'm a wee bit concerned that perhaps this new unit has been dropped or something of the sort -
Is anyone capable of testing an ABS unit for me? Have been given a 2000 520, m52tu. Car had a brand new ABS module installed and coded, yet has not fixed the issue (this was before me, I am not aware of the original fault codes) I have scanned on INPA using tiny ADS interface. It is showing two valving codes. Is there a standard test to run on the valve bodies? I am aware it isn't the first time a Singapore imsport was horrible to fix

I have a few e36s with no interior and no motors if you wan to come have a look for leak points, am in Hastings

+1 to this. That car is reputedly quite well put together. It would be very unusual to run straight cut gears though as they have extremely strong gear sets in the ZF (pretty sure it was a zf box)
-
After an early e36 factory head unit with plug. And any Aquamarine blue fabric seats of door inserts in tidy condition
-
I have to be hat guy, but I really need that Morrie next to it, looks superb. Last MM Woody on TM went miles out of my budget Blimmin nice m5 though
-
Sounds good to me. Flick me a PM and I'll send it off on Monday
-
Correct However if memory serves me right the 530 does not have the alloy shocks. Both are nice cars regardless
-
I can cut you a jolly good deal on the mentos but unfortunately the durries are off limits Blimmin repco not even useful when your mate works there
-
I need to compensate so I love the 8

M50b25 non vanos. Approx 230km or so when removed from car, test fired and ran smooth Comes with loom, ecu and all accessories Also have zf Auto box, crap adjustable front shocks (weld on sleeve and insert) and plenty of other e36 junk Selling to fund cage in racecar $700

New, was supplied wrong pump. Free to anyone who can spin a choice yarn about needing a pump. Will ship anywhere
-
The 540 has aluminium suspension components I love 540s. I don't find the steering an issue personally as they're not exactly a proper sport car I want to get another 540 in the future but only want a manual one
-
Slammed a cam belt and water pump on the 316. But the pump supplied is incorrect, turns out Gates don't do one for an e36 M40 motor as their part number is the same as an m44 (which I have and is indeed not the same) they have supplied me with an e30 m40 one. So if anyone wants a new Rapeco pump for an e30 M40 send me a message, free to anyone with a decent story including shipping Pulled the box out of the 325 racecar car and began stripping the loom down to remove all the junk Pulled the engine, box and rear end out of my other 325, will list the engine and box for sale here soon Been a busy week so far!

I love a good MK1! This one was purchased on a whim, it's very original and straight and was a very silly price.
