Its been a bit of a bumpy ride aye blair

Haha thanks guys for the input, looks like we are going to have to sit down and look at priorities etc (one is not leaving the 30 behind after all the hard work)....one weekend when one of us commutes. Lucky for me i would potentially being going against the grain of rush hour traffic going to the hutt in the morning and to the cbd at night. But really need to get this job first (fingers crossed i will find out this week) then commence the long process of packaging everything up and bringing it down. Im actually really looking forward to moving to the windy city, i really like the CBD but have yet to still explore the outer suburbs....
-
I am starting to realise that and may have to leave the 30 in hamilton until such stage as we are better settled, the ngaio/johnsonville area seems a good compromise between getting the the CBD and LH?
-
So it seems that there is a fair chunk of the community here residing in wellington. So though i would ask here for some opinion....I am currently working on moving to wellington from the lovely city of hamilton. The job i have applied for (all going well) is in lower hutt but my partner works in the CBD and currently lives in newtown making everything easily accessible for her so keeping that side of things would be handy as she is unable to park in town. I also need garaging for the 30. So im looking for opinions on optimal suburbs to look at for renting a suitable property that has garaging, is close to public transport and a safe area. Will be looking in the next couple of months to move, any help would be awesome as i dont know the area very well at all. cheers

I do have a full set of extended bolts
-
How many spacers do you require? i have a pair of 15mm and a pair of 20mm spacers, hub-centric....will need to check on bolts but may have some in the shed. $200 for the full lot (4 spacers & 20 bolts) but will need to check the bolts

There was an e34 535i on trademe quite cheap the other day.....might be an opportunity to have a look at it

If the rails are unmodified then you wont have a problem with wofs etc....
-
Oh yip i know the parts, i think i may have them in my garage
-
which mounts are you talking about? the ones at the bottom of the radiator?
-
yeah this is what i think i will do and then assess the situation from there

Am going to teekay test the vehicle tonight and see how it goes, but after a lot of reading what i am seeing is the water beginning to boil because the system is no longer pressurised. Seal it up and try it is the only way.
-
Sounds very similar to mine so may seem that the problem i am having isnt actually a problem. I havent put coolant in yet as i dont want to be wasting coolant spilling it all over the place haha. So think i will just put it all back together and fill with coolant and test the system out properly. fingers crossed.

I was wondering if it could possibly be normal. The water is reaching almost 100 degrees by that stage. being an m60 it doesn't have a bleed screw, I wish it was that easy. am running a custom expansion tank in the battery tray (e30)
-
So removed the thermostat and ran the vehicle up, not until it gets to half way on the gauge does it push a whole lot of water and air out???? so im lost...... It has been suggested cracked head??? Anyone have any insight? or just still not bleeding properly
-
It has been suggested to me to remove thermostat and check system condition that way as well?
-
So i am getting to the end of my build. Well im hoping...... So i have pieced the cooling system all together, custom alloy expansion tank, feeding into the rear crossover pipe, z3m radiator, 80 degree thermostat, everything was new when i put the motor back together. Motor is a m60b40. Have filled coolant from tank and once thermostat opens blows water out like a whales blow hole. Tried filling from the top radiator hose and blowing onto the top hose to try and remove air....still does is. Checked thermostat vent is at top put all back together, filled through reservoir, blew through feed tube from radiator to resesrvoir still a lot of pressure. Is only when thermostat is open? Anyone had experience with m60 cooling systems? i dont want to think the worst of it being a headgasket, there doesnt seem to be any mixing of oil & water but im also no mechanic.... if anyone could shed some light would be a massive help, is one of the last hurdles before i can start test driving.

Thanks guys, hopefully it might have it almost complete by the end of the weekend, have fitted appropriate sized tyres to the wheels for better fitment and more tyre to road size. Should have some more photos shortly

It will give you an idea of how much further they will stick out from the wheels that are currently fitted to your vehicle so you can then get a measuring tape and go outside and have a look for yourself. Question? why are you fitting 20" tyres to 19" wheels?
-
How much are you looking to spend?
-
Call Kerry at mosen euro parts he may be able to help you out

If that wont pass a cert i am definetly not going to pass with the v8 in a smaller body again. I am using e46 325i front discs and caliper (300mm) with ebc red pads, e30 stock rear calipers with ebc red pads, stainless lines and racing brake fluid. you would hope the setup you have is big enough.
