Check out my diy post in electrical and interiors!

I take my race car to the guy who certified it!! So he knows the car and it's history

Usually if there is room for a decent muffler there is room for a rear mount ..
-
Sorry not intake .. charge piping
-
Seen the Americans mount a t04z sized turbo at the rear exhaust area using oil pumps? The extended intake piping can even do away with an intercooler ..

Suggest a s62b50. Reliable and will easily reach your power goals. Or you could go forced induction with even a 2L and achieve the same numbers but with a smaller power band and perhaps a more complex and thus less reliable setup

Even some low boost on the v12 will make a big difference. With that engine you can spool some large turbos which will move a lot of cool air at low psi ........

Suggest not welding. Studs are meant for holding the wheel onto the hub. The hub holds the main forces and he studs just make sure the hubs are aligned and held properly. If you slot correctly you increase the risk of bearing failure (different than your usual definition of bearing), however your studs should not experience that sort of loading to a point where it would make much of a difference. Slot and treat the edges to remove any potential cracks. Counter sink as required again avoiding knife edging and cracks and it should hold up to a lot bar extreme loads. Welding does all sorts of unquantifiable changes to the metal spreading even to the hub bearing surfaces so be careful there .. Hot sleeve the old stud holes maybe ..

Road or race? Building yourself or paying for the build?

The s70 is a decent engine but any engine losing fuel pressure at high rpm will lunch itself!

Improving on M3 suspension (E36)
handgrenade replied to handgrenade's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
I had a mechanic friend check out the suspension on a hoist and we could tell a lot of the bushings had been replaced .. New rotors and shocks on the back. All very well maintained. I'm not sure that I would push the limits of the standard suspension of course .. Would riding a little lower mess with the factory beautiful handling?? -
Thanks Brent! I have a few things to pick up from you!! I will find an armrest first then hit you up, cheers!

Hi Mike What sort of UUC springs are those? Will they suit a sedan? How much lower? Much stiffer ride ? Thanks!

Improving on M3 suspension (E36)
handgrenade replied to handgrenade's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Thanks Michael. I understand there are always tradeoffs but are there any acceptable tradeoffs to improve performance at the minimal cost to comfort? Or has BMW got this right from factory? -
Hi All My E36 M3 Sedan was optioned with a smokers package. I don't use it, in fact the little ashtrays are annoying as I would prefer normal compartments or whatever. Would there be any trouble installing an armrest? Do I need a special arm rest? Or will any E36 armrest do the job? Thanks!

Hi All With BMW spending countless millions with potentially hundreds of suspension engineers and racing experience advice, is there a reasonable justification to try improve on the standard setup? I understand that a full adjustable setup properly tuned with quality parts can produce excellent results for track use but I'm thinking daily driving with the occasional spirited drive .. No track use. With some cars putting in lower stiffer springs can do wonders for a standard suspension setup but with a very highly pretuned setup from a machine like the M3, is there any benefit from springs or other smaller modifications short of a full adjustable setup alone? Cheers

Uncertified adjustable suspension will get stickered if found. A requirement for a WOF .. A legitimate WOF
-
Around 400 for a cert given if everything is legit

If it is your main pump I'd get something new like a Bosch. Not something you want to skimp on if you push the car hard at all ..

thief broke my door key holes & messed up my door handles!

No alarm? -
Lol how much for the table?
-
WOW E31. good work mate!
-
Are you clocking those massive kms in a BMW?
-
Tell the ltsa? Those WOF inspectors answer to someone and have to keep their authority to issue wofs so I'd imagine there would some sort of quality control or auditing .. Or just let it go and never go back there and advise people not to!
