We Reset the rain sensor error in my 540i after the AA guys abused it by jump starting the car months ago. (From both terminals front AND back). It seems the rain sensor did not like it. Also changed a faulty (Chinese ebay) abs sensor back to the factory one. It only lasted one year. Thanks Glenn!!! Good job everything seems to work perfect now. Fingers crossed. Hi guys. My 540i is 99 Japanese import with tv/navigation and cd changer. I got a European tuner from eBay to replace the Japanese tuner which is hopeless outside of Auckland. All plug and play; same connectors etc. Installed today. Success!!!! BUT !!!..... I lost my CD input. When browsing using MODE button I only have tape and radio. The donor tuner came from a 1995 E38 with CD changer so I suspect it has to do with the year. Apparently the early CD changers had different pinouts and connection style. Any experience or ideas? I found a replacement front bumper for my E39 in pristine condition but unfortunately different color. Any experience how much will cost me to change color and get the looks right. Scored some nice mint condition limited edition door sills.... I had some second thoughts if I should put them on as my car is not factory individual but then again I liked them compared to the standard boring ones so here we go....
