  1. I have one you can use. It's a Bosch taken out from a 525i 2002 m54 engine Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  2. the tv module goes together with the monitor. must be priced and sold together. Ask bmw if any issues by removing them. 99,99% should be fine
  3. Can you explain what equipment does the car have what do you sell and what do you want to buy?
  4. I need one for the 525i also. can you give us heads up if all goes ahead. Cheers
  5. the monitor itself will not work as a 16:9 on a 4:3 tv tuner. I speak from experience. You need to change the package. Monitor and module. Be careful and avoid hassles....
  6. Great car. Beautiful condition. Just out of curiosity what did you pay for it? You don't have to answer if you don't feel like.
  7. I went to the guys and they are extremely helpful friendly and easy to deal with. they diagnosed the problem, nothing to worry about no need for repairs.
  8. Yesterday I popped into Glenn's place in Botany to sort out my handbrake. Great experience even for a small job like this. Bonus taking to Glen. He has some good advice to give. A++ Thanks
  9. These are the infrared receivers not leds. Correct me if I am wrong.

    uh oh...

What is BMW opinion about the issue? Common failure? Expected in this milleage range and age?
  11. I guess you can now negotiate with the dealer if you like the car anyway... Interesting that they did not know about the alternator before.
  12. Yeap 540i. Thanksfully I don't have any loud sounds during high revs or driving but I will get it checked. Glenn or Ray could be a good start...
  13. Interesting. Did you try the second key? Maybe a key memory thing.
  14. I personally don't mind the non M models. Black interior is a non go though. Looks like a great car but with 3000 more you get an E60 2005. Big dilemma.
  15. Hi guys. Recently I noticed a grinding noise coming out of my gearbox when I engage reverse or parking. No noises whatsoever in Neutral and Drive. Noises are not loud but easy to pick up in a late night quiet environment. Could it be my engine mounts? This is according to a couple of forums online. Car is 1999 with 150k on the clock and recently new oil and filter on the gearbox. Any similar experience and knowledge would be welcome. Cheers Dimitrios

    Filter

Although I am selling my e46 it would be nice to have a proper bmw microfilter. Are you sure it is not carbon activated?
  17. My rubber mounts on the oil filter housing were gone so I had to sort this asap. There is a high risk involved by driving the car if both mounts are gone. The general layout is like this. Called BMW asked for price. $90 for the set. I said f@@k that I will check local after market ones. Mount Shop Penrose. In stock $40 for the set. I chose on purpose to go one size up on size to make it bullet proof. Original mount is 20 x 20 with M6 male studs Problem is the bottom stud is quite short and once the rubber goes it's a hell of a job to remove it from the metal bracket. The one I chose is 30 x 20 (larger diameter not height) with 2 long male stud M6 Benefits from the upgrade is better anti vibration, stronger Mount and easy to remove in the future just by putting a m6 cap nut to undo the worn Mount.
  18. they are 2001 xenon facelift ones.
  19. I was thinking to organise a group buy for the cables. they are quite cheap on ebay but if we get 5 or more we save heaps on the total cost.
  20. Scary stuff. I am always scared with the idea my sunroof will fail one day. try to do some reading here. http://tis.bmwcats.com/document/repair/E39/g54:a4000:w0/t5412/ if you use Google Chrome there is automatic translation.
  21. I have one set. I just put them on my car but I don't quite like the white indicators. if I find an orange set they will be for sale. And they will cost you much less than ebay
