Not sure if suspension was loaded when it was checked for play. I’ll ask Jon tomorrow.

It’s subtle at 80-100 But more aggressive on heavy braking

You are the last person I can think of that needs this car @TermiPeteNZ ? think I’m probably going to pull the trademe add and keep it for a while so I can find what’s wrong with it. Maybe it will become worse and more obvious....I don’t notice it at my daily speeds of 50-70 so it’s easy to live with in the mean time.

228,000 had the car into Jon @ Auto38 to see if he could diagnose the shimmy I’m experiencing at 80-100km and upon braking. Everything in the front is tight, worn upper control arm in the rear. He thought it could just be tyres. So today @mossline and I swapped wheels. We also put mine on his for extra validation. No dice. My car still wobbles and his with my wheels doesn’t. Good to be able to rule that out though. so guess I’ll replace the rear arms and take it from there. After seeing @Jacko’s glossy car I bought some soft99 car wax (for light coloured cars) and went about my commiserations waxing the beast. photos of it glossed up to follow tomorrow. side note, the E30 has a lot of play in the drivetrain so it was drop one off pick one up at Auto38 this week ?♂️

I'm looking for recommendations on remote locking for my E30. Would love to hear your experiences if anyone has any? From the zone i'm looking at this rightclick one https://www.rclick.co.uk/shop/index.php?id_product=22&controller=product But I want to retain the original/as close to original key code HU50. Any suggestions?

I honestly can't feel any difference ?

226XXX km Brake fluid flush and swapped out for some new lines. New hoses can see the old lines starting to crack. used this vacuum bleeder I got off Wish after Glenn was recommending them, seemed to work pretty well. I've since watched an article about how stainless lines on a street car are a complete waste of time ? refilled with this stuff from BNT.

How many km's out of those tyres?? Will be great knowing all that stuff is sorted. Can you roll over another warranty? -
Got around to fixing the passenger side 'pork chop' this weekend. Had a much better line up with the rubber piece on this side. Before: After:

225,245 km Oil and Filter change Penrite 5W-40 and BMW filter (had to order from Auckland...guess my car IS old) Been chasing a coolant leak which turned out was the elbow that connects the expansion tank to the radiator. Ended up having to silicon the new elbow in as it was still leaking despite the new part ? anyway, all is fixed and no more coolant low light. That second O-ring at the bottom of the new elbow turns out is a spare as there's no way it stays there when pushing it in. Since that was a $3 part and BMW couldn't find it in their system I got it from FCP and got a new fan shroud while I was at it to make the shipping worth it. Old: New: Since I bought the car the toolkit screw had been partially snapped off meaning the tool kit would randomly fall down, recently this started being a full time thing and everytime you opened the boot there would be a tool kit hanging down...pretty annoying when you are trying to wrangle a baby buggy in and out. I went out to pick apart and got a new one...albeit it's not black it functions as it needs to. another $2 well spent.

I only need the front passenger, would you sell separate?
-
Installed a Mtech II 370mm steering wheel.
-
Hi. No sorry they are sold.
-
ha, I guess so. I'm still planning on replacing it eventually.

M-sport sill trims?

224,000 km Weird clicking in the cabin has been solved. Turned out it was the seatbelt receiver's old plastic guides being noisy...took abit of detective work to figure out where it was coming from, lubed it up with some plastic friendly grease and it's nice and quiet now. Replaced drivers side door seal, it was on the first list of things to do.....finally got it done. old: New: man that feels good. I got a new lens, 105mm Macro......took it out for a little test run tonight. I also put the sub back in the boot. It really rounds out the sound nicely...the wiggles never sounded so good ? Should probably vacuum the boot sometime too..
