Thanks Martin, I'll have a look. I would love it to be something simple

Have had a balance issue with the Mpars vibrating (similar to thrust arm vibration) @80km/h so have gone back to the style 66's. Took them back to the shop which re-balanced them however said there was nothing more they could do. Style 66's back on and no vibration @80km. Will save the balancing issue for a rainy day, unless someone wants to buy them off me...yours for $2000 located in Welly. I'm still chasing an intermittent front end clonk, it comes up through the steering column when suspension is loaded up or with a sudden change of direction, but isn't consistent with the steering...seems more a load issue. You can also kinda feel it through the floor panel too and it's significantly more noticeable once the car is hot and has a full tank of gas. centre drag link + tie-rods + pitman arm bushings were replaced at around 170,000km according to maintenance records. I've replaced the strut mount and have sway bar links on the way. Sway bar links are cheaper than drag link so figured I would try this first. I have re-torqued everything to spec and have got in with a pry bar to try find some play but can't find any weak point ? If the sway bar links don't fix it, it might be time to take it to a specialist. What do you guys think?

I deleted my comment cause I thought it was abit dumb...who hasn't spent a tonne of money on maintenance on their BMW! But totally agree on high km E39 is going to need some $$ put into it...and the E60's are so cheap now...you really have to want an E39 to go in. Oh man.....i keep looking at F11 535i Tourings...... ?

New WOF for the E30. 1990’s car shot on a Hasselblad from the 80’s

More than welcome to take my E39 for a spin. I haven’t done my shocks yet but my tyres are new and it might give you an idea of what a 214,000 km on original shocks feels like..... @Mikan recently did the shocks in his M- Sport touring (OEM Sachs) ....probably more relevant as to what you are trying to figure out than mine but the offers there.

Thanks Kasey, it's been a great project...nice step up from the E30 too.

Warrent time today. Took it to VTNZ as I was confident there weren't any issues. Turns out the orange film on the rear indicators had cracked off and they failed it because they were white. A quick trip to Repco and it's all sorted. ?

Bumping this old thread. Anyone posted themselves shocks from the states to NZ, and have any issues?? Cheers, A.

Phew...man, you rocking a 4 car stable at the moment or did you flick the Volvo?
-
Love this. Looking forward to seeing another E30 round the eastern suburbs regularly. The BMW clubbers will also be able to tell you where your kid(s) (at least the car) is without installing a GPS ?.

Thanks man. Yeah I had to get a couple of new ones on the front....been sitting on these rims for a while waiting for some spare money to come round. Went for the cheaper option of hankooks @ $215 a corner. My tyre guy wasn’t very impressed that I was swapping out the 10,000km old RE003’s and S001’s for these. I’m just going to hoard them for now.

Quick clean yesterday, and for once it didn't rain overnight so it's still clean today!

And a couple more....I’m pretty stoked with how the 18’s look and feel.
-
Yeah, could do with an update but I’m holding off as long as I can.

A few day time pics yes, that is the baby in the baby capsule in the back seat .. @Olaf super keen to shoot photos in the future. At the moment it's pretty hard for me to lock in a time but that will change...eventually.....i hope! Thanks @qube!

212,756 km A while back I picked up @qube's Mpars. Today I finally got around to getting them fitted and balanced.
