Very very nice. They're beautiful to drive. The e46 wagons that are around look amazing still.
-
Cheers. Yes when he told me they had 15 of the size and they were $60 each I could hardly contain myself when new decent ones were going to be about $400 each.
-
$60 each. 255/35/18s.

Thanks mate! Went to McPhail this morning, got two Bridgestone G-Grid tyres which still had the paint lines on the tread for $120. Awesome.
-
My rear Michelin PSS are stuffed, got a nail in one and the other side is worn as. I don't really have the funds right now for two new rear ones, any ideas/rec. for places in Auckland to get some decent 2nd handies from?

Thanks for all your help on this one guys!! I managed to talk directly to the underwriters at ASB, they kept my policy and didn't increase the premium at all. $67 per month for full cover is an awesome result when NAC / ClubAuto were going to be $100 with a $3500 theft excess. An example of the forum truly helping out

As this is a Japanese import my e87 reverse bing-bong is louder than the engine at full rev. Anyone made this modification or know what to do?

Cyclists only annoy me early in the morning when they think they're in the Tour de France with 50 cyclists using the whole road. Otherwise I give them plenty of room and respect them. Motorcyclists on the motorway on the other hand annoy me with their lane splitting at high speed!

^ That's good. My mate's GF got her insurance with them and they were cheap. What is your excess?
-
Signing a petition to keep a TV show.

^ Youi is a bit of a joke, with my last car (325ci) they were $15 more than State, when I told them that they matched it, but the excess was $2k. Then I said it was unacceptable so they lowered the excess and kept the premium the same. Then I said okay, may as well go ahead, let's organise the contents insurance - they couldn't insure me because I had more than 4 people in the house...

^ I know, I know. It might seem juvenile but I guess I see Audi as more of a threat than Mercedes when it comes down to popularity and perception amongst others.
-
Cannot believe people are loving Audi on a BMW forum!
-
The new 3/4 series IMO look better than any other car from Merc/Audi out at the moment. They certainly look better than the e90/91 too.
-
Yep I've had experience with 2 e46 2.0 4cyls and my mate has an e90 320i. They've all had leaky oil problems.
-
NAC quoted $100 per month, pretty happy with that, they are cheaper than AA. Will do Swann and Club Auto tomorrow to see their rates. Any other suggestions to try?
-
Hmm, I don't know if I want to take that chance. The strut bars, aftermarket alloys and cooling system are certainly "modifications" take your point on the shocks, exhaust and brakes as they're M-spec/BMW performance.
-
Need some help guys, I just got turned down by ASB and State as I am disclosing about $6k worth of modifications: - Strut bars (do these need disclosing?) - Blisten shocks - Alloys - Cooling system The exhaust and brakes are performance, but they're BMW ones and pretty sure they were an "add-on" at purchase. As I bought the car with these mods, I don't actually have any idea what they actually cost... AA has quoted me $117 per month with those modifications (although didn't ask about the alloys) through their online quote. State suggested NAC and then I've just had a look at Swann. What do you guys think?

^ haha terrible.

Saw a MAN coach today that had headlights that looked EXACTLY like the facelift e39 headlights. Strange.

Just did a google: http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f74/n46-engine-t109112/ not pretty reading on quite a few sites. My mate has a 320i with the same engine and it has oil leaks. He did a pre-purchase from Jerry Clayton and while it's good ATM, they picked up on quite a few things that I can see haunting him down the line. While completely subjective whenever I get in his car I feel it's a ticking time bomb The fuel economy is good, but the performance is a little average, it also sounds like a tractor when it starts! I'd suggest looking at a 3 series with the smaller 6 cyls as they're more reliable and more enjoyable!

Yes, it is a lot of fun!!
