  1. People driving behind you in traffic that get annoyed you don't go really fast to the next red light or car stopped 50m in front of you.
  2. Love these e39s. Must've been getting a burger in Ellerslie!
  3. Beautiful e30 coupe going over the bridge today, hipsters.
  4. In that link I posted they mention the engine change on the 335is, not sure, but that might just be something for North America?? I did a bit of reading an apparently the LCIs have different suspension that works better with RFTs...
  5. That's great! Well, when mine wear out I will be ordering them through there.
  6. What would the duty be? Also, the shipping must be MASSIVE considering the weight or is it not?
  7. ^ nope I wouldn't say that, I'm speaking more figuratively than literally. I've driven manual Mitsi Lancers that are not sporty but have connected me with the road and given me truck loads of joy. I was basically having a dig at Audis which make you feel like you're being driven by a computer...
  8. I think soul comes from how much the car connects you with the road.

    CWC...

I was incredibly nervous before the semi against SA, but basically had no feeling yesterday before the game. I guess some part of me knew it was a pretty tall order and I'd had enough of the tournament!

    CWC...

We did the best we could, Australia deserved to win this game. Happy it's over!
  11. - Modified front bumper, less "grille" sections, one long slit. - Modified rear bumper, less concave, smaller more obvious indent. - Lower overhangs on sides. - Larger side-mirrors. More here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=341511
  12. People need to stop using such an elitist bigot as a role-model for the anti-PC brigade who apparently believe he says "what we all think." He's fallen on his own sword and it has been coming for a long time. He needed to go and nobody is surprised. Just like Paul Henry who in the coming months will crash and burn for the 3rd time because generally the public don't like the out-of-touch.
  13. That's why it became so popular internationally because you didn't actually have to listen to anything...
  14. The show won't survive without those hosts. Top Gear Australia bombed because it didn't need replication in Australia, USA yes, because it was harder for them to relate to the original. Top Gear will always be one of my favourite shows, but I stopped watching it about 3 years ago when it became clearly scripted, less about actual car-reviews and the outside controversy which always seemed to involve Clarkson. It seemed as the show went down in content value (for me) it went up in popularity internationally. It was a great format, but ultimately the person who brought it to the BBC in the first place ruined it enough for everyone else. New format with the same hosts on a different network would probably work. New hosts / same format is doomed.
  15. Maybe start another one poll? Non continuous series BMWs? 6ers, 8ers, 2002 etc.
  16. Agree, while they're not M3s the two m-spec e46s I've had became quite impractical and uncomfortable for day to day use. Driving a newer BMW now there's a pretty big comfort difference (with better handling).
  17. Has anyone done an upgrade on their e87 or other model from standard bulbs or Xenon fronts to LED back-lights? I've been looking around online and there are guides, but just keen to know if anyone in NZ has done this upgrade? Wanting to go from the standards to the LCI LEDs, like this:
  18. Let's battle out what your favourite 3 series is, mechanical, modification friendly, looks, nostalgia etc. I'll kick it off with mine in order, leaving the e21 out as I don't know enough about it: 5. E90 - despite how many angles are in the design I find it too conservative. A good looking car but there's something I find a bit dull about them. The saving grace for me would be 335i and the coupes, the coupes are especially good-looking, varied and far smoother to look at. 3. E36 - I remember in the mid-90s when I was only a kid and seeing bright red e36's and thinking that they were an awesome looking machine. Have had a bit of love-hate with them because so many haven't been looked after. Also, when I worked at the traffic control centre we saw so many of them break down!! 4. F30 - love the wagons, didn't like them when they first came out but have really warmed to how aggressive the front end is. The bi-turbo I4s is a great roll of the dice on dropping the I6s. The 4 series (which is just a coupe 3 series) is out of this world. 2. E30 - a classic that still looks amazing. Great to drive, beautiful to look at. Timeless. 1. E46 - I've owned two of them and still believe that they are a beautiful looking car, inside and out. The I6s are awesome, the M-spec versions handle incredibly well and they're lighter than the new offerings. The 330ci coupes and convertibles around still look like an expensive, premium vehicle and have held their value. I believe that the e46 M3 is the best M3.
  19. Once got a date with a girl because she was driving a BMW too, easy way to start talking to her...
