  1. Hi Bimmersporters, just wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to lend me a spare set of wofeable wheels to fit my e39. Happy to buy a box of beers or what not in return or give some cash as token of appreciation. My tyres are actually fine but wof technician decided they are 'too old', seems like the recent crackdown on wof stations has got everyone a bit paranoid.
  2. Excellent thanks Glenn. I will have to get in touch with her.
  3. Glenn any particular reason for your recommendation? Have you personally had dealings with that partner or know her? Yeap I definitely agree they are worth setting up, pity not so many people are aware of the benefits of having one. I have heard of such cases you talk of, often those people make their intentions even more evident to the judge by setting the trust up with themselves as the sole trustee and beneficiary.. Thankfully I am in none of the situations mentioned above and hope I won't be there. Legitimate reasons for setting up, namely to state my part ownership of a soon to be purchased property, tax advantage and of course asset protection. What do you mean in terms of the payments? Just keeping track of what they have contributed if any towards the property/asset? Is that because they can make an argument for a stake based on their contributions e.g. mortgage repayments/renos etc? Also do you mind if I ask how long ago you formed yours and with what firm? Or are they based out of Akl? I am guessing you have been happy with them so far? Funny you say that Graham as I'm an accountant myself. That's in no way my intentions at all and I would not feel right about doing such a thing if the assets were rightly jointly owned i.e. acquired during the course of a relationship or with joint funds, but imo it's more than fair to protect what is wholly yours from the start. I see people getting robbed of their lifetime's hard work and savings all too often just from getting in bed (literally) with the wrong people. The main tax advantage comes from income splitting/distributing to gain lower tax rates from beneficiaries with less or no income but if you mention anything about 'income splitting' ird will try get you for tax avoidance, a more acceptable term to them might be 'tax planning'.
  4. As titled, anyone have any personal experience or know any decent lawyers with trusts that won't rob me for my kidneys? I am in East Auckland area and looking to form a family trust. From basic research the ballpark seems to be around the $3K mark for formation and extra per property transferred etc. Of course price isn't the only factor as the trust deed drawn up will govern everything but I do think my situation and needs from the trust are fairly simple and straightforward. Would love to hear any general advice, comments or experiences even if not directly related to trust or law firms in Auckland!
  5. Do you know if the seats have pre facelift or facelift plugs and how much would be to get it to Auckland? Year 2000 cars can have bits from either side.
  6. Auckland preferred but everything considered. Thanks!
  7. My knock off is still going strong after a year so I'm happy, although signs of fading is starting to show. Off topic but I have always wondered exactly at what value you get stung by GST on import, as on the customs site it says anything over the value of NZ $60 or $80 and that's certainly not the case. I recently also ordered an array of parts for my cooling system overhaul which was at about NZD $450 value and luckily dodged the bullet but I knew that was a bit of a gamble. What are your guys' experiences on this? I have never ever had to pay but my brother has, on an LSD he imported .
  8. Glad to hear that you got it sorted could've been a troublesome fix, will keep in mind to try brute force if it ever happens to mine. Sometimes too afraid of going that route, and it hurt just reading of having to drill a hole to unlock it. Hahaha
  9. Cheers Josh just had a brief read up on that, guess it can't be 'too' bad of a Rep after all. Yeap indeed, I believe they are supposed to be different styles though unless I'm wrong. These are reps of the 359M wheel where spokes do extend to the rim. Staggered setup did sit nice on the e60 it was on! Bump. Will sell for $900, otherwise will be going on TM.
  10. Hey Nick, all I could find of what may be the brand is a logo that looks like it says JIL.
  11. Sorry not too sure Nick, neither is my brother whom I'm selling these on behalf for. I'll check tomorrow if it says anything on them otherwise, you're more than welcome to have a look at them if wanted.
  12. As titled, have a nice set of e90/92 M3 replica wheels for sale. Staggered Fitment. Front: 19x8.5" ET 14 Rear 19x9.5" ET 24 Includes tyres. Fronts will need replacing as not much tread left on them rears are still in good shape with plenty of tread. Overall in pretty good nick with nothing really that noticeable unless you go up close, happy for buyer to view as everyone has a different opinion. Have taken pictures of wheels individually to show the condition as best as I can. Wheels are not buckled, cracked nor dented. Selling on behalf for $950, pick up Howick / Pakuranga area.
  13. Damn Kyu, you have too many wheels. Where are you finding them all hhahah.
  14. I was thinking matte white on my montreal blue e39, is that something you could do? Anyway I also have my eye on another set of wheels that I will be checking out some time next week. So can't make a decision just yet. By the way thse look a lot more like 19"?
  15. Got any pictures at different angles? Any curbing and is price including painting?
  16. My adjusty isn't even long enough, hahaha. Will grab a longer one tomorrow and try, cheers mate.
  17. Any chance someone in Auckland has removal tools for the fan clutch? Happy to pay a small fee for usage cant really be bothered waiting on shipping. Picture for reference. Cheers.
  18. Congrats on the buy OP, I must say you're the only person I know that's intentionally bought a 540i as a daily/work car though. They are Beyern Five's I believe. Certainly not BMW but don't think they are reps either.
  19. The left front speaker in my e39 is distorting even when I swap the right speaker over and my left rear speaker doesn't play half the time, actually more than half the time. I suspect the factory amp to be the culprit as I have a pretty new aftermarket HU and it was playing fine for a little while up until the last few months. Does anyone have any experience getting their amp rebuilt? I don't see much point in buying a second hand one as it seems to be a common issue with age on these amps.
  20. Pete, just curious what price range would I be looking at to get covered with Autosure on my e39? Have you got some yourself? It's a 98 525 with 80xxxks? Been thinking about it sometime but never got round to getting a quote.
  21. Michael, my e39 has a similar issue. Rear left speaker will play sometimes and not at other times and also my left front speaker will distort at a much lower volume compared to the right side at times. It is not the head unit as that is brand new and not the speakers as I've been swapping them around and testing it. Do you want to check it out? What will your prices be like? Would like it fixed if it's not a hefty job.
  22. Alright, will try for a fourth time hahah.
  23. So I've finally gotten around to replacing my windshield cowl, after attending to a lot of other less important but more rewarding stuff hehe. The problem I'm having is pulling the wiper arms off once it's been unbolted. Does anyone around Auckland have the right puller for the job I could borrow for like 10 minutes. WIll buy a box of beers/ciggs/chicken. Or if anyone can help get it off that would be even better. I've bought a gear puller but the claws are too fat to get under the top side of the wiper arm. I've also tried soaking it in CLP and heating it up with the heat gun but to no avail. Has anyone successfully removed their wipers? How did you go about it? Thanks.
