I would add that Alcantara's suitability is absolutely based on its age and condition. New is great, old is terrible and soaked in every oil nasty that touches it.

I love painted beltline on a E39. But so far most dont agree with me. The tan reminds me of my Mustangs saddle interior. Its just too bright. Darker tan or brownish works better.

Yeah i dont mind tan with green either. Alpine rims like above would look good. The rebuilt motor adds nothing to the price. Just POM.

I applaud him for doing something so dumb and spending so much on the car. If i was more wealthy than i am i would waste my money doing things like this. Though a M54 rebuild doesn't make much sense. Why not swap something else?
