  1. Had this little badboy for an amazing day in the sun today - Bday gift from the wife.

So much fun - 140whp and 600kg is more than enough for me - made the E30 feel like driving a houseboat afterwards.

Incredible steering and brake feel and the noise from the 4 banger 20V with ITBs and side pipe was truly savage.

    Would reccomend!

TBH, the touring is a let down if you want the full E30 driving experience, I am not sure why but I never really gelled with the dynamics, it was nice and neutral leaning towards understeer but mostly just felt slow and heavy and sloppy vs the coupes playfull nature, you would not think they are the same model.

Also, they are also bugger all more practical than a regular hatch back because of the way the boot opens and how the cargo area is lined.

They do look great though and get a lot of attention and admiration, and for some people that is all that maters. I still would rate the one I had as garnering the most look backs after parking from me, or close too it.

Stunning - would love a Lachsilber Tech 2 touring to park next to mine!

  3. Finally fixed my odometer gears and gave the cluster a mini tart up while I was at it with a polished cover and an Mtechnic tachometer gauge face.

Kept it subtle and resisted the urge to paint the needles red 😂

Tried matte black cluster rings (2nd pic) but decided against them.

Also had some new SI board batteries and capacitors but it all looked good and my soldering isn’t great so decided to not mess with it unnecessarily.

Also troubleshooting a pesky ABS light, right before WOF time… does not appear to be sensors and the relays ‘look’ as good as new 🤔

  4. Been a while as I don’t drive this too often - car has been reasonably faultless - only a service so far and steering rack knock fixed (common issue apparently).

This weekend I took advantage of the nice weather, took a gulp and handed the wife the keys to the E30 and took the F31 solo camping at Tawharanui.

Naturally feels like a Rolls Royce on the open road compared to the E30.

Next mission I reckon I’ll take the E30 camping as pretty sure I can get all the same stuff squeezed in there and it will make for better photos haha.

    A few of my favorites'.

"First owner" when selling a Japanese import. Guys name is Hemi and he lives in Putaruru.

"Service history" going back one year since they purchased it and its wiper blades and a battery.  The car is 10 years old.

"Always garaged" again, owned 12 year old car for 18 months.

"Always used 98". Its a V6 Commodore that will run on 91 no issues and there is no advantage to running 98.

"Super economical, gets 500km to a tank". Scientific measurement of fuel economy.

"Rare". There are 8 the same colour on Trade-Me alone.

"Failed WOF". Claims its just a light bulb but they don't have time to fix it.

"Not in a hurry to sell" Drops price the next week and state "MAKE ME AN OFFER"

"No test drives without proof of funds". Its a 180kw open diff Lexus with traction control worth $7,500.

    "Justies". Just f**k off.

    I'm sure there are more.

My favourite is their pride and joy they’ve owned for 3 months.

The description for the listing is nearly as retarded as the current prices for E30's.
"had some work done to the motor dont know what make an offer"  $7K

    Product photo of bmw 325i

Thank goodness he's used a cover on it
